However, this section considers only the energy performance during use (running and standby). Elevators, escalators and moving walkways Energy Performance Part 3. Escalators and Automatic sidewalk energy calculation and classification

1 Scope

1.1 This section provides. a) Method used to estimate the energy consumption of escalators and moving walkways. b) A uniform method for classifying energy performance of newly installed, used or retrofitted escalators and moving walkways. 1.2 This section considers the energy performance of escalators and moving walkways during their life-cycle use. It does not contain aids Equipment energy consumption and grading, for example. a) Lighting other than comb board lighting, step lighting and operation indicators; b) cooling, heating and room ventilation equipment; c) alarm devices and emergency power (battery) devices; d) environmental conditions e) power outlet consumption. Notes 1. Comb plate lighting, step lighting, and operation indicators are considered as an integral part of the operation of the equipment and are therefore not defined as ancillary equipment. Note 2. There may be other electrical loads not related to escalators or moving walks, which should not be included. 1.3 This section considers all escalators with a lifting height of not more than 8m, inclined moving walks and a horizontal length not exceeding 60m Moving sidewalks. This includes about 93% of the installed equipment in the country.
