This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part 1.Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting. This document is part 4 of GB/T 18204 “Test methods for hygiene in public places”. GB/T 18204 has been published in the following parts. --- Part 1.Physical properties; --- Part 2.Chemical properties; --- Part 3.Air microbial indicators; --- Part 4.Microbiological indicators for public supplies and utensils; --- Part 5.Central air conditioning and ventilation systems; --- Part 6.Technical specifications for health monitoring. Introduction

GB/T 18204 "Public Place Hygiene Inspection Methods" is a national recommended standard and is consistent with GB 37488 "Public Place Hygiene Indicators and Limits". GB/T 18204 (all parts) is used in conjunction with the "Requirements for Public Places" and is the recommended standard test method for public place hygiene monitoring. The publication is conducive to standardizing sample collection, on-site and laboratory testing in public places, and improving the precision and accuracy of test results of testing institutions. This document is part 4 of GB/T 18204. This revision improves the test methods for microbiological indicators of public supplies and utensils in GB 37488 and supplements the results of various indicators. The biochemical identification step of β-hemolytic streptococcus was added to further improve the advancement, operability and Applicability, meeting the needs of health inspection in public places. 1 Scope

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document. 3.1 Total bacterial count The growth of mesophilic aerobic and facultative anaerobic bacterial colonies on nutrient agar medium at 36℃±1℃ for 48h total. 3.2 coliforms Aerobic and facultative anaerobic Gram-negative, non-spore-forming bacillus that can ferment lactose, produce acid and gas under certain culture conditions. 3.3 Staphylococcus aureus It grows well on Baird-Parker plates, forms a completely transparent hemolytic ring on blood plates, and is Gram-positive in plasma coagulase tests.
