3 Terms and definitions

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 15604 and the following apply to this document. 3.1 Process equipment (including vessels and piping) in which combustible dust-air mixtures exist. 3.2 Explosion venting Explosion venting Pressure relief By opening the pre-designed pressure relief port, the unburned mixture and combustion products are released to prevent the pressure from rising beyond the design strength to protect the container method. 3.3 pred The pressure peak of an explosion in the protected process equipment after explosion control measures have been taken. Note. If the explosion control measure is explosion pressure relief, the controlled explosion pressure is also called explosion relief pressure. 3.4 pred, max The maximum value of the controlled explosion pressure (3.3) obtained by systematically varying the concentration of combustible dust.
