1 Scope
This Standard specifies the terms and definitions, requirements, test methods,
inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of drum brake linings
for automobiles (hereinafter referred to as “braking linings”).
This Standard applies to drum brake linings for vehicles of categories M, N and O.

5.3 Basic requirements concerning health and safety
Basic requirements concerning health and safety shall be tested as specified in Clause
5 of GB 5763-2018.
5.4 Impact strength test
Impact strength of brake linings shall be tested as specified in GB/T 33835.
5.5 In-plane shear strength test
In-plane shear strength of brake linings shall be tested as specified in GB/T 26739.
5.6 Density
Density of brake linings shall be tested as specified in JC/T 685.
5.7 Braking performance test
5.7.1 Braking performance of drum brake lings for vehicles of category M1 shall be
tested as specified in QC/T 564.
5.7.2 Braking performance of drum brake linings for vehicles of categories M2, M3, N
and O shall be tested as specified in QC/T 239.
6 Inspection rules
6.1 Inspection classification
6.1.1 Exit-factory inspection
The items of exit-factory inspection. appearance quality, dimensions, exit-factory
inspection items of GB 5763-2018, impact strength, in-plane shear strength, density.
6.1.2 Type inspection
The items of type inspection include all the items as specified in Clause 4.
Type inspection shall be carried out in one of the following cases.
a) when a new product is put into production in commission;
b) when production is resumed after a long term of production halt;
c) when there is any significant change in material or technology, possibly
influencing the properties of products;
