Foreword

This standard equivalently adopts the international standard ISO 3996:1995 "Brake hose assemblies for hydraulic braking systems of road vehicles used with non-petroleum-base brake fluid", which is a revision of GB 7127-1986 "Rubber hose for automotive hydraulic brake system". The main differences between this standard and GB 7127-1986 are as follows: - CHANGE the scope of application, expanding from use for automobiles to use for road vehicles (including automobiles, cars, motorcycles, etc.); - SPECIFY the performance requirements, test procedures, markings, for hydraulic brake hose assemblies, which have a nominal inner diameter of 3.2 mm and 4.8 mm; - SPECIFY the structure of the hose in detail; there is no separate requirement on the pipe joints, which is classified as hose assemblies; - CLARIFY the definitions for brake hose assemblies, brake hoses, etc.; - DELETE the drawing of the tensile test of the automobile hydraulic brake hose; - In the high-temperature impulse strength test, in addition that, the brake hose assembly shall be free from leakage, after being kept under a pressure of 27.6 MPa, for 2 minutes, ADD that "no burst under a pressure lower than 34.5 MPa"; ADD the high-temperature impulse strength test: at least 150 impulse tests under the pressure of 11 MPa + 0.50 MPa, at a temperature of 143 °C ± 3 °C; - ADD dynamic ozone resistance test. This standard replaces GB 7127-1986, from the date of implementation. This standard was proposed by the former Ministry of Chemical Industry of the People's Republic of China. This standard shall be under the jurisdiction of the Hoses Subcommittee of the National Rubber and Rubber Products Standardization Technical Committee. The responsible drafting organizations of this standard: Shenyang Rubber Research and Design Institute. 1 Scope

This standard specifies the performance requirements, test procedures, markings for hydraulic brake hose assemblies, which have a nominal inner diameter of 3.2 mm and 4.8 mm, for the hydraulic brake system of road vehicles. This standard applies to the hoses, which are made of cord reinforcement layers and synthetic elastomers, AND the hydraulic brake hose assemblies, which are equipped with metal pipe joints, that use the non-petroleum-based brake fluids which meet the requirements of GB 12981.
