3 Method summary

In slightly acidic solution, the standard solution of mercury nitrate with strong ionization of chlorine ion is converted to weakly ionized mercuric chloride with hydrazine diphenylcarbazone Indicator with an excess of Hg2 + purple generate complex to determine the end point.

4 Reagents

Nitrate 4.1. 1mol/L. 4.2 nitrate mercury standard titration solution. Ba [1/2Hg (NO3) 2] = 0.05mol/L. 4.2.1 preparation. Accurately weigh 8.5650g mercuric nitrate [Hg (NO3) 2 · H2O, pure class distinctions], placed in 250mL beaker, add 50mL of nitric acid, Dissolved until the solution is clear, if necessary, can be filtered and transferred to 1000mL volumetric flask, dilute with water to volume, and mix. 4.2.2 Calibration. Pipette 5.00mL three standard sodium chloride solution (0.0500mol/L), were placed in 250mL flask, add water to 100mL, 2 drops of bromophenol blue indicator, nitric acid was added dropwise until the solution was yellow, and then 5 drops of excess, was added 1mL diphenylcarbazone hydrazide indicator nitrate Mercury standard titration solution titration solution from yellow to purple is the end. Nitrate mercury standard titration solution volume parallel calibration consumed Differential should not exceed 0.05mL, averaged. With calibration blank test. 4.3 diphenylcarbazone hydrazide indicator. 5g/L. 4.4 bromophenol blue indicator. 2g/L. 5. Apparatus Commonly used laboratory instruments and equipment.
