This revision of this Standard has revised the following main technical contents: — CHANGE the representation of the designation; — ADJUST the chemical composition and properties of each designation; — ADD some provisions and terms. This Standard replaces GB/T 4172-1984 Atmospheric corrosion resisting steel for welded structure from the date of implementation. Appendix A of this Standard is an indicative appendix. This Standard was proposed by the National Metallurgical Industry Bureau. This Standard shall be under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Steel. China Metallurgical Information and Standardization Institute and Wuhan Iron & Steel (Group) Co., Ltd. were responsible for drafting this Standard.
