Foreword
This Standard was drafted as per the rules specified in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This Standard replaced GB/T 26774-2011 Technical Specification for Car Transport
Vehicles.
Compared with GB/T 26774-2011, this Standard has main technical changes as
follows besides the editorial modifications.
--- Modify the English name of the standard;
--- Modify the applicable scope of the standard (see Chapter 1);
--- Modify the definitions of car carrier, goods vehicle for car carrier, trailer for car
carrier, and semi-trailer towing vehicle for car carrier in Chapter 3;
--- Modify the clause structure of the Chapter 4; modify the general rules (4.1 of
2011 Edition) into general requirements (4.1 of this edition); delete the working
conditions (4.2 of 2011 Edition); modify the entire car (4.3 of 2011 Edition) into
performance requirements (4.2 of this Edition), structure requirements (4.3 of

Technical Specification for Car Carriers
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the terms and definitions, technical requirements, test
methods, inspection rules, mark, vehicle accompanied documents, transportation,
storage and etc. of the car carrier.
This Standard is applicable to the trucks, trailers, trains specially designed for
transporting the passenger cars and driving on the road; the special vehicles for
transporting other types of vehicles can also refer to this Standard to carry out.
2 Normative Reference

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions are applicable to this document.
3.1 Car carrier
Goods vehicle, trailer, train and other special vehicles equipped with goods platform
for loading, transporting and fixing car, and springboard for the on and off of the car;
as well as specially designed for transporting the passenger car.
3.3 Trailer for car carrier
Special trailer (including semi-trailer, center axle trailer) equipped with single-or-
multiple-layer of goods platform; used for loading and transporting passenger car.
3.4 Semi-trailer towing vehicle for car carrier
Semi-trailer towing vehicle equipped with goods platform for loading and transporting
passenger car.
4 Technical Requirements
4.1 General requirements
4.1.1 Car carrier shall be manufactured as per the diagram and technical documents
approved by the prescribed procedures.
4.1.5 Semi-trailer for car carrier shall conform to the provisions of GB/T 23336; center
axle trailer shall refer to GB/T 23336 for being carried out.
4.1.6 Contour dimension, axle load, quality limit, channel circle and epicycloid value
of car carrier shall conform to the provisions of GB 1589.
4.1.7 Design for the center axle trailer train of car carrier shall meet the driving
requirements on Class II and above highways.
4.2 Performance requirements
4.2.1 The braking performance of car carrier shall conform to the provisions of GB
7258, GB 12676 and GB/T 13594.
4.2.2 The specific power [maximum net power of engine/total mass of car (train)] of
car carrier shall be no less than 5.4kW/t; and the maximum full-loading speed shall be
no less than 90km/h.
4.3 Structure requirements
4.3.1 The semi-trailer towing vehicle shall be equipped with No.50 fifth wheel
conforming to the provisions of GB/T 13880 and GB/T 31879; while the semi-trailer of
car carrier shall adopt the No.50 towing pin conforming to the provisions of GB/T 4606
and GB/T 15088.
4.3.5 The distance from the draw ring center of center axle trailer of car carrier to the
axle or axle assembly center of trailer shall be no greater than 7300mm.
4.3.6 The installation position, size and spacing of electrical connector between
towing vehicle and trailer shall conform to the provisions of GB/T 32861.
4.4 Configuration requirements
4.4.1 The semi-trailer towing vehicle, semi-trailer towing vehicle of car carrier, and
goods vehicle of car carrier shall be equipped with satellite positioning vehicle terminal
conforming to the provisions of JT/T 794 and relevant standards.
4.4.2 The car carrier shall be equipped with anti-lock braking system conforming to
the GB/T 13594.
4.4.3 The car carrier shall be equipped with radial tyre; suitable for using tubeless
radial tyre or wide section single tyre; the load sum of each tyre shall meet the
requirements of axle load.
4.5 Process requirements
4.5.1 The welding quality of welded parts shall meet the requirements of JB/T 5943;
the welding seam shall be flat, even, free from defects like burn through, leakage of
welding, cracks, pores, and etc.; the welding slag shall be removed thoroughly.
4.6 Goods platform requirements
4.6.1 Both sides of the top goods platform of car carrier shall be equipped with guard
fence (net);the height of top end of guard fence (net) away from the upper surface of
top goods platform shall be no less than 800mm. In the bundling position, the vertical
distance from the bottom end of guard fence (net) to the foot pedal position of the
upper goods platform shall be in the range of 500mm~800mm.
4.6.2 The driving channel of loading vehicle for the goods platform of car carrier shall
have anti-slip function. In case of no-load, if the upper movable goods platform fully
falls, it shall be connected with the supporting seat; however, one of the side is allowed
to have the gap no greater than 6mm.

4.6.7 The design of car carrier shall ensure the driver of the loading vehicle can enter
and leave freely.
4.6.8 The goods platform for parking vehicle shall be free from the sharp corner or
edges that may puncture or scratch the vehicle wheels.
4.7 Lifting device requirements
4.7.1 The lift operating and controlling mechanism shall be equipped in the position
where it is easy to observe the goods platform lifting; and has the operation indicating
marks.
4.7.2 The lift system shall be equipped with safety protective mechanism that
prevents the self-lift of the goods platform; if the lift system is invalid, the loading vehicle
goods platform shall not fall automatically.
4.7.3 The rising and falling work of the lift system shall be stable and without blocking
phenomenon.
4.7.4 In the running state of the car carrier, the goods platform shall have reliable-
operating mechanical locking device.
4.7.5 During the rising and falling period of movable goods platform, the left and right
side of the goods platform shall maintain synchronous rising and falling; the
asynchronous deviation of the left and right ends of goods platform shall be no greater
than 100mm.
4.7.6 If the goods platform adopts the manual mechanical lifting, its operating force
shall be no greater than 260N.
4.7.7 If the goods platform adopts the hydraulic lifting system, the following
requirements shall be met.
5 Test Methods
5.1 The type test of the car carrier shall be performed as per the provisions of QC/T
252.
5.2 The mandatory inspection of the car carrier shall be performed as per the
provisions of relevant standards.
5.3 The amplification factor test on the lateral acceleration rear part of the train of car
carrier shall be performed as per the provisions of GB/T 25979.
5.5 The self-falling test on the end of movable goods platform shall be carried out as
per the following method. the moveable goods platform shall be uniformly loaded the
rated payload, then rise to the highest point on the horizontal level, and 1/2 lifting height
to stop; record the height on the end of goods platform, maintain 5min; then record the
height of such point; calculate the height difference, the maximum difference is the
self-falling on the end of the moveable goods platform.
6 Inspection Rules
6.1 Exit-factory inspection
6.1.1 The car carrier can leave the factory only when it is inspected qualified by the
manufacturer’s Quality Inspection Department, and attached with the product
certificate.
6.2 Type inspection
6.2.1 In case one of the following situations, the type inspection shall be performed.
6.2.2 When taking the type inspection, if it belongs to a), b) of 6.2.1, then the type
inspection shall be performed as per the provisions of QC/T 252, 4.2, 4.3, 4.4, 4.5, 4.6
and 4.7; if it belongs to c), d) of 6.2.1, only the affected items shall be inspected.
7 Marks
7.1 The car carrier shall fix the product label on the obvious position; the installation
and content of the label shall conform to the provisions of GB/T 18411 and GB 7258.
8 Vehicle Accompanied Documents, Transportation, Storage
8.1 Vehicle accompanied documents
The vehicle accompanied documents shall include.
8.2 Transportation
When the car carrier transports on the railway or water road, it shall get on/off the
vehicle or ship by driving itself or towing mode; if it is loaded and unloading through
the hoisting mode, then the vehicle shall be reinforced and protected, and special
hanger shall be used for loading and unloading.
