1 Scope

This Part of SN/T 2763 specifies the method for the determination of nickel, calcium, titanium, manganese, copper, cobalt, chromium, zinc and phosphorus contents in nickel laterite ore by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometric method. This Part applies to the determination of nickel, calcium, titanium, manganese, copper, cobalt, chromium, zinc, and phosphorus in nickel laterite ore. The determination range is shown in Table 1. 2 Normative references

Element Content range % 4.9 Ferric oxide (high purity): burn in a high-temperature furnace at 1 000 °C for 1 hour. 4.10 Magnesium oxide (spectrum pure). 4.11 Nickel, calcium, titanium, manganese, copper, cobalt, chromium, zinc and phosphorus standard stock solutions: respectively prepare standard stock solutions of nickel, calcium, titanium, manganese, copper, cobalt, chromium, zinc and phosphorus elements according to the method that is specified in GB/T 602, the mass concentration of which shall be 1 000 µg/mL; or use commercially available standard solutions directly. 4.12 Iron matrix solution (30 mg/mL): weigh 4.285 g of ferric oxide (4.9) into a 250 mL beaker; add 25 mL of hydrochloric acid (4.2); cover the watch-glass; heat at low-temperature on a hot-plate to dissolve completely; cool; transfer into a 100 mL volumetric flask; use water to dilute to the mark; mix well. 4.13 Magnesium oxide matrix solution (20 mg/mL): weigh 2.000 g of magnesium oxide (4.10) into a 250 mL beaker; add 20 mL of hydrochloric acid (4.6); cover the watch-glass; heat at low-temperature on a hot-plate to dissolve completely; cool; transfer into a 100 mL volumetric flask; use water to dilute to the mark; mix well. 4.14 Hydrogen (purity ≥ 99.9%). 5 Instruments and apparatuses 5.1 Inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometer: it shall be able to provide a stable plasma torch flame; the stability (short range, long range), background equivalent concentration and detection-limit, and calibration curve shall meet the requirements of GB/T 23942. 5.2 Hot plate: temperature control accuracy of ± 10 °C. 5.3 Analytical balance: sensitivity of 0.1 mg. 5.4 Drying oven: the temperature can be controlled at 105 °C ± 5 °C. 5.5 High-temperature furnace: the temperature shall be controlled at 600 °C ± 50 °C ~ 1 000 °C ± 50 °C. 5.6 Platinum crucible: inner volume of 30 mL.
