The main changes with respect to SH/T 1541-1993 are as follows. - In the scope, the high-density polyethylene, low-density polyethylene, and linear low-density polyethylene to which this standard is applicable are combined and collectively called polyethylene (PE) (chapter 1). - Styrene-acrylonitrile (SAN) resin and modified plastics are added in the scope (chapter 1). - The undated documents in the normative references are changed to dated documents (chapter 2). - The chapter terms and definitions is added (chapter 3). - It is specified that granules include fines and broken grains (3.4). - The definitions of snake-skin particles, floccules, and bubbled grains are added (3.5, 3.6, 3.7, and 3.8). - The sieve set for test is described according to GB/T 6003.2-1997 (5.1). - Sufficiently shaking “in the horizontal direction” is added after the sieve set for test is assembled (7.2). - The chapter “result representation” is added (chapter 8). The standard was proposed by China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation. This standard shall be under the jurisdiction of the National Standardization Technical Committee - Petrochemical Plastic Resins Products Sub-Committee (SAC/TC15/SC1). Drafting organization of this standard. China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation - Beijing Yanshan Company - Resin Application Research Institute. Main drafters of this standard. Wang Xiaoli, Chen Hongyuan, Yang Chunmei, Wang Shuhua, Li Zhenhuan, Xu Guiqin, Shi Yingqiu. This standard was issued in 1993 for the first time; this is the first revision. Test Method for Appearance of Thermoplastic Granules1 ScopeThis standard specifies the test method for the appearance of thermoplastic granules. This standard is applicable to uncolored granular resins such as polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polystyrene (PS), high impact polystyrene (PS-I), acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS), and styrene-acrylonitrile (SAN). This standard is applicable to modified plastics as well. This standard is not applicable to the powder in thermoplastic plastics.2 Normative referencesThe articles contained in the following documents have become part of this document when they are quoted herein.
