3 Terms

3.1 Fire-resistant properties It refers to the ability of polymer products to pass the following tests. 3.2 The length flame spread The length of the charred part of the test piece after the flame combustion and flameless combustion of the test piece are extinguished.

4 Fire-resistant properties test methods

4.1 Alcohol blast burner combustion test method 4.1.1 Test piece Cut 6 test pieces from the sample, each of which is 360 mm long, 50 mm wide, and 5 ~ 10 mm thick. 4.1.2 Instruments and apparatuses a. Blast burner. The blast burner shall meet the requirements of MT 182; the fuel shall be supplied from a container with a graduated tube. The fuel used shall be a mixture (V/V) of 95% ethanol (GB 394) and 5% methanol (GB 338). b. Combustion test chamber. There shall be a machined and sealed matching hole, which serves as the entrance of the blast burner remote control device and the fuel line; the inner surface of the chamber shall be painted black (see Figure 1); the chamber shall be equipped with an adjustable device to ensure that the test piece is in place; a fume hood with an exhaust fan shall be installed on the upper part of the chamber, but it must be premised not to cause changes in flame combustion, otherwise, the fan shall be turned off during the test. c. Stopwatch. The minimum division scale of the stopwatch is 0.01 s. Figure 1 – Schematic diagram of the combustion test chamber 4.1.3 Test procedures 4.1.3.1 The operation and maintenance of the alcohol blast burner shall be 4.1.3.4 Carry out the test in a combustion chamber under low light; ignite the alcohol blast burner; adjust the flame height to 150 ~ 180 mm; the fuel consumption is 2.55 ± 0.15 mL/min. 4.1.3.5 The air flow around the test piece during the test shall be as small as possible, subject to the flame that does not affect the test piece. 4.1.4 Result expression The following test results shall be recorded and calculated. 4.1.4.1 The unit value of the flame combustion time and flameless combustion time of each test piece and drippings; 4.1.4.2 The length flame spread of each test piece; 4.1.4.3 The arithmetic mean of the flame combustion time of 6 test pieces and drippings; 4.1.4.4 The arithmetic mean of the flameless combustion time of 6 test pieces and drippings. 4.2 Alcohol lamp combustion test method 4.2.1 Test piece Cut 6 test pieces from the sample, each of which is 360 mm long, 50 mm wide, and 5 ~ 10 mm thick. 4.2.3.6 The test piece is perpendicular to the door of the combustion chamber, so that both sides of the test piece can be observed. 4.2.4 Result expression The following test results shall be recorded and calculated.
