1 Scope

This Standard specifies the product structure, technical requirements, cable test, acceptance rules, marking and packaging of copper-conductor extruded plastic insulated cables with prefabricated branches for a rated voltage of 0.6kV/1kV. This Standard is applicable to cables with prefabricated branches used in air-laid buildings and supply mains for rated voltages of 0.6kV/1kV and below; and cables with prefabricated branch for illumination of tunnels and bridges, as well as for other similar purposes.

3 Terms and Definitions

For the purposes of this Standard, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 2900.10 and the following apply. 3.1 Cable with pre-fabricated branches The cables with pre-fabricated branches are a complete and continuous set of cables pre-fabricated by the factory. 3.2 Branch-jointer The sealed components that the conductors of trunk and branch cables are compressed and connected by copper or copper alloy tubes and perform the complete insulation treatment. 3.3 “C” shaped connector for conductors A device that is used to connect conductors of cables with prefabricated branches. Its cross-section is like a C-shaped copper or copper alloy connecting tube, which facilitates the snap-in and compression connection of the conductors of trunk and branch cables. 3.5 Type test (Symbol T) Type test refers to the test that is carried out on a type of cable specified in this section before delivery in accordance with general commercial principles to prove that the cable has good performance and can meet the specified use requirements. The essence of the type test is that once these tests are carried out, they do not need to repeat. If the changes in cable material or design shall affect the performance of the cable, the type test must be repeated. 3.6 Sample test (Symbol S) Sample test refers to the test that is performed on the finished cable specimen or the components taken from the finished cable to prove that the product meets the design specifications.

4 Model and Specification

4.1 Symbol and code 4.3 Model The models of cables can refer to Table 1. 4.4 Specification Please refer to Table 2 for the number of cable cores and the cross-sectional area specifications of trunk cables and branch cables; and refer to Table 3 for the conductor cross-sectional area specifications of four-core and five-core cables. Cables with other cross-sectional area specifications shall be negotiated between the manufacturer and the user.

5 Technical Requirements

5.1 Cable 5.1.1 Quality requirements for cable body The cable body shall meet the requirements of the copper core cable with rated voltage of 0.6kV/1kV in GB/T 12706.1.Multi-core cable insulated cores twisted into cables are only allowed to be arranged in one layer, and each insulated core is also allowed to be arranged in parallel in one layer. 5.1.2 Configuration of cable specification 5.1.2.1 In principle, the models of trunk cable and branch cable selected for the same Models The number of cores 5.1.2.2 For the same group of cables with prefabricated branches, only one branch cable per core is allowed to be connected to the branch point of the multi-core trunk cable; and two or less branch cables are allowed to be connected to the branch point of the single-core trunk cable. Unless otherwise required, all branch cables shall be led out in the same direction. 5.1.2.3 When the trunk cable is multi-core, the branch cable can be multi-core or single-core cable. When the trunk cable is single-core, the branch cable can be a single-core or two-core cable. 5.2 Pre-fabricated branch-jointer 5.2.1 Compression connection of conductor 5.2.1.5 When stripping the core insulation of a multi-core trunk cable, if the bare conductors are arranged longitudinally, they should be separated by an insulation distance of 10mm~25mm. If the bare conductors are arranged radially, appropriate insulation and isolation measures are allowed. 5.2.1.6 The actual cross-sectional area of the conductors of trunk cable and branch cable shall not be reduced during compression connection. The compressed connection tube shall be free of cracks, burrs and other scars. If a C-shaped connector for conductor is used to compress, its opening is basically closed (fine seams are allowed). 5.2.2 Insulation of branch-jointer 5.2.2.1 The insulation of the branch-jointer shall be manufactured by the corresponding polyvinyl chloride or polyolefin injection moulding process (hereinafter referred to as injection moulding) according to the cable model, and the appearance shall be neat and clean. Refer to Appendix B for the performance of injection plastic. 5.2.2.4 The thickness of the thinnest point of the external insulation of the single-core or multi-core cable branch-jointer shall be no less than the sum of the nominal thickness of the trunk cable insulation and the sheath, which includes the reinforced insulation (if any). The thickness of the thinnest point of insulation between adjacent conductors of a multi-core cable shall be no less than twice the nominal thickness of the trunk cable insulation, which includes the reinforced insulation (if any). 5.2.3 When required by the user, multiple single-core cables can be twisted into a cable or bundled in parallel. The direction of the twisted cable is right, and the cable pitch is not specified. When bundled in parallel, the cables can be fixed at a fixed distance with a suitable clamp. When packaging and laying the twisted into cables or bundled in parallel, there shall be no looseness and displacement of the single-core cables. 5.3 Device for hanging 5.3.1 The device for hanging can adopt multiple combined structures such as hooks, insulating components, clamps, porcelain insulators, steel mesh sleeves, etc. The cables with prefabricated branches shall be fixed within 24h after hanging. 5.3.2 The cable end at the device for hanging shall be completely insulated to ensure the sealing and insulation of the end. 5.4 Identification mark 5.4.1 The finished cable shall be marked with the factory name or trademark on the branch-jointer. Appropriate methods can be used to indicate the product name, model and specification, the length of the trunk cable and the total number of branch-jointers. 5.4.2 For single-core cables or cables stranded with multiple single-core cables, the sheath of each cable is allowed to use colour or digital identification marks, and meet the requirements of GB 6995.

6 Test of the Finished Cable

The finished cable with prefabricated branches shall be tested in accordance with Table 4.

7 Test Method

7.1 Conductor continuity (conduction) Check with a multi-meter or buzzer. 7.2 Tensile strength of conductor after compression connection 7.2.1 Specimen. Take a section of the branch-jointer with an appropriate length of the trunk cable, strip off the branch-jointer insulation and its cable sheath and insulation; 7.2.2 Carry out the tensile strength test according to GB/T4909.3, the tensile strength of the two specimens is calculated according to the measured cross-sectional area of the reference specimen. 7.3 Structure test of the branch-jointer 7.3.1 Appearance Inspect with normal eyesight. 7.3.2 Insulation thickness 7.3.3 Insulation section quality Observe the above section with normal eyesight for pores or impurities. 7.4 Water immersion voltage test or spark test for branch-jointer 7.4.1 Spark test electrode The principle of the electrode device is the same as insulated core power frequency spark test method specified in GB/T3048.9.The inner cavity of the metal box of the electrode shall be able to accommodate the largest specimen; and the distribution density of the metal bead chain shall comply with the provisions of GB/T3048.9; and the length of the bead chain shall be greater than the maximum transverse dimension of the specimen. The metal box has an insulating shell, and has sufficient ground insulation level and safety protection measures. 7.5 Water immersion voltage test of branch-jointer 7.5.1 Specimen Unless otherwise required, the manufacturer respectively chooses one piece of branch-jointer for single-core and multi-core with appropriate lengths as specimens.

8 Acceptance Rules

The manufacturer shall carry out type test, routine test and sample test according to Table 5.

9 Marking and Packaging

9.1 Packaging 9.1.1 Each cable end shall be sealed with a sleeve. 9.1.2 It is packed in discs or rolls, and has suitable protection measures to avoid damage to the product during transportation. 9.1.3 The cable reel shall meet the requirements of JB/T 8137.1~8137.4, but the size of the cable reel is allowed to be designed separately according to the requirements of cable with prefabricated branches. 9.2 Marking A label shall be attached to each disc or roll of packaging to indicate. 6 Test of the Finished Cable

The finished cable with prefabricated branches shall be tested in accordance with Table 4.
