This Standard is identical to translation of ISO 1463:2003. For ease of use, this Standard has made the following editorial changes: a) CHANGE the word 'this International Standard' to 'this Standard'; b) CHANGE the word 'this country' to 'country'; c) USE a decimal point '.' instead of a comma ',' as a decimal point; d) Delete the Foreword of the international standard. This Standard replaces GB/T 6462-1986 "Metallic and oxide coatings - Measurement of coating thickness - Microscopical method".
