The device to prevent unauthorized use shall be able to remain in the locked position without the need for auxiliary power. 4.13 Before unlocking the device to prevent unauthorized use, the drive system of the vehicle cannot be started in the normal way. 4.15 For the device to prevent unauthorized use equipped with driver warning system, when the side door of driver is open, if the device to prevent unauthorized use does not work or the key is not pulled out, the warning system shall be triggered immediately.5 Special requirements for device to prevent unauthorized use of M1 and N1 vehicles5.1 Device to prevent unauthorized use acting on steering 5.1.1 The device to prevent unauthorized use acting on steering shall be able to disable the steering. Before the engine starts, the normal steering function shall be recovered. 5.1.6 If the component fails when a torque specified in 5.1.4 is applied and the steering system remains locked, the system shall meet the requirements. 5.2 Device to prevent unauthorized use acting on driving or on braking 5.2.1 The device to prevent unauthorized use acting on driving shall be able to stop the steering of vehicle drive wheel. 5.2.5 The device to prevent unauthorized use shall be designed and manufactured so that it shall be still fully effective after it is subjected to 2,500 cycles of locking wear test at each direction. For the device to prevent unauthorized use acting on braking, the electronic or mechanical sub-parts of the device shall also meet the requirements. The device to prevent unauthorized use shall be designed and manufactured so that it shall be still fully effective after it is subjected to 2,500 cycles of locking wear at each direction. 5.2.6 If the key of the device to prevent unauthorized use is pulled out of a position other than the drivetrain lock or brake lock position, it is designed so that the manual override can reach this position and the key removal shall not be effected unconsciously. 5.3 Device to prevent unauthorized use acting on shifting 5.3.1 The device to prevent unauthorized use acting on shifting shall not prevent any change on shift. 5.3.2 For manual transmission, lock the shift lever in the reverse gear position and also allow the shift lever to be locked in the neutral position.6 Electromechanical and electronic devices to prevent unauthorized use of M1 and N1 vehiclesIf electromechanical or electronic devices to prevent unauthorized use are installed, they shall comply with the requirements of Clause 4, Clause 5 and Clause 17.7 General requirements for vehicle alarm system (VAS)7.1 The VAS shall signal an alarm when the vehicle is intruded or unauthorized used. Alarm signal shall be audible signal. In addition, it shall also include visual warning signaling device or wireless warning device, or the combination of these devices. 7.4 The installation of VAS in the vehicle shall not affect the performance of the vehicle (in the unset state) or its normal operation. 7.5 The VAS and its components shall not be accidentally triggered, especially when the engine is running. 7.6 VAS malfunction or power failure shall not affect the operational safety of the vehicle. 7.7 VAS, its components as well as the controlled parts shall be designed, manufactured and installed to stop immediate, accident failure by unauthorized personnel to the maximum extent, or damage by tools that are cheap, easily hidden, carried and manufactured by public. 7.10 VAS may include immobilizer.
