1 Scope

This Standard specifies the content of order, dimension, form, weight and permissible deviations, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, package, marking and quality certificates etc. for hot-rolled wire rods for prestressing steel bars of concrete. This Standard applies to hot-rolled wire rods for prestressing steel bars of concrete.

2 Normative references

The articles contained in the following documents have become part of this Standard when they are quoted herein. For the dated documents so quoted, all the modifications (excluding corrections) or revisions made thereafter shall not be applicable to this Standard. 3 Content of Order

Contracts or orders signed in accordance with this Standard shall include.

4 Dimension, Form, Weight and Permissible Deviations

4.1 The dimension, form, weight and permissible deviations of wire rods shall comply with GB/T 14981. 4.2 Any special requirements for the dimension, form and weight of wire rods shall be mutually agreed upon between the seller and the buyer, and indicated in the contract.

5 Technical Requirements

5.1 Designation and Chemical Composition 5.2 Smelting Process Steel for wire rod shall be smelted in oxygen converters or electric furnaces. 5.3 Condition of Delivery Wire rods shall be delivered as hot rolled. 5.4 Mechanical Properties According to the requirements of the buyer, wire rods can be subject to mechanical performance tests; the test items and performance index shall be agreed upon between the seller and the buyer. 5.5 Decarburized Layer If required by the buyer and indicated in the contract, wire rods can take a decarburized depth test. The total decarburized layer at one side of the wire rod (ferrite + transition layer) is divided into two groups as shown in Table 2.D in the table is the nominal diameter of wire rods. The group shall be indicated in the contract. If not, it will be regarded as group II. 5.6 Surface Quality 5.7 Special Requirements Based on the buyer’s needs and agreed on between the seller and the buyer, tests of microstructures, non-metallic inclusions, etc. can be carried out, with the test indexes determined through consultation between both parties, and indicated in the contract.

6 Test Methods

6.1 The chemical composition of steel can be tested through common methods; when arbitration, it shall be conducted according to GB/T 223.

7 Inspection Rules

7.1 Inspection and Acceptance The quality inspection and acceptance of wire rods shall be carried out by the seller’s technical supervision department. The buyer is entitled to carry out inspection and acceptance according to this Standard. 7.3 Re-inspection and Decision Rules The re-inspection and decision rules of wire rods shall be in accordance with GB/T 2101.

8 Package, Marking and Quality Certificate

The package, marking and quality certificate of wire rods shall comply with GB/T 2101. ......
