Electric Water-Heater Safety Valve1 ScopeThis Standard specifies the terms and definitions, structural type and parameter, requirements, materials, inspection methods, inspection rules, mark, package, transportation, and storage of electric water-heater safety valve (hereinafter referred to as “safety valve”). This Standard is applicable to the safety valve installed on the water inlet pipe of the electric water-heater; the set pressure range is of 0.025MPa~1.0MPa; the safety relief pressure of safety valve. the closed type is of 0.6MPa~0.9MPa, the opened type is 0.15MPa~0.35MPa; the medium temperature is no greater than 95°C.2 Normative ReferencesThe following documents are essential to the application of this document. installed on the valve of enclosed type electric water- heater. 3.3 Relief inside parts When the water supply system is stopped, the media in the container can’t be returned to the pipe part; or when the pressure in the container is higher than the setting pressure, the media can’t be automatically released to the part of the water supply system. 3.4 Relief outside parts When the pressure in the water supply system or container is higher than the pressure relief outside, the media can be released from the discharge port. 3.5 Pressure relief inside The pressure released by the action of valve clack in the relief inside part, when the pressure in the container is raised in the process of heating the electric water-heater.4 Structural Types and Parameters4.1 Typical structure The safety can be divided into the opened type and enclosed type according to the usage; the typical structure can refer to Figure 1 and Figure 2.5 Requirements5.1 General 5.1.1 The safety valve shall be equipped with a removable filter. 5.2 End connection 5.2.1 The inlet connecting mode of safety valve is male thread; while the outlet connecting mode is female thread; the accuracy shall be no less than Class-B accuracy stipulated in GB/T 7307-2001. 5.4 Shell 5.4.1 The shell shall be free from the shrinkage, cracks, pores and the like defects. 5.4.2 The inlet of enclosed type safety valve shell is equipped with limit boss; which controls the stretching amplitude of the valve clack action. 5.5 Relief inside parts 5.5.1 The enclosed type safety valve clack and sealing surface of relief inside sealing gasket is matched by linear sealing. 5.5.2 The relief inside parts shall be flat and smooth without the defects affecting the sealing. 5.6 Spring 5.6.1 The spring materials shall conform to the provisions of GB/T 24588. 5.6.2 The slenderness ratio (ratio between free height and intermediate diameter) of spring shall be less than 3.7. 5.7 Wrench The safety valve shall be equipped with manual discharging wrench, and the wrench setting shall not influence the normal discharging of the safety valve. 5.8 Sealing gasket 5.10 Surface quality 5.10.1 The shell surface shall perform the plating or passivation treatment, the surface color and luster shall be the same without pattern, skin exposure, pinhole, scratch, and the like defects. 5.11 Performance 5.11.1 Shell strength Through the test specified in Sub-clause 7.3.1, the safety valve shell shall be free from leakage or structural damage. 5.11.3 Flow rate When the water supply system pressure is under 0.1MPa±0.02MPa, and the safety valve outlet is opened, supply the water from the inlet, then the flow rate on the outlet shall be no less than 0.17L/s; 5.11.4 Service life The service life of safety valve switch shall meet the requirements stipulated in Sub- clause 5.11.2 after using the switch for 6×104.6 MaterialsThe major materials of safety valve shall conform to the provisions of Table 3; other types of materials with using performance no less than the provisions of this Standard are allowed to serve as alternative materials.7 Inspection Methods7.1 Structural dimension The structural dimension shall be inspected by the gauge with the corresponding accuracy level. 7.2 Surface quality 7.2.1 The surface quality shall adopt visual examination. 7.3 Performance 7.3.1 Shell strength Connect the safety valve shell with the test bench, enclose each channel; inject water, discharge air and exert pressure of 1.5MPa; after maintaining for 60s, check the shell, which shall be free from permanent deformation and leakage. 7.3.4 Set pressure Connect the inlet of safety valve with the test bench; slowly boost; when the outlet is dropping water, the reading on the pressure gauge is the set pressure. 7.3.5 Sealing performance Take the safety valve that is qualified in the set pressure test; enclose the discharge port and inlet; inject the pressure specified in Sub-clause 5.11.2; after maintaining for 5s; check the valve stem and valve body positions, which shall be free from leakage. 7.3.8 Service life 7.3.8.1 The test conditions shall conform to the provisions of Table 1.8 Inspection Rules8.1 Inspection items The inspection items, technical requirements, and test methods shall conform to the provisions of Table 5. 8.3.2 Normally, at least one sampling type test shall be carried out annually. 8.3.3 The sample of type test can be taken randomly from the qualified products on the terminal of the production line;
