1 Scope

This Part specifies the determination method for the viscosity of precious metal pastes, which are used in microelectronics technology. This Part applies to the determination of the viscosity of precious metal pastes, for microelectronics technologies.

3 Method principle

The test shaft of the rotary viscometer rotates in a constant temperature paste, at a certain speed. The viscosity of the paste is determined by measuring the torque, which is caused by the viscous resistance. When there are few samples, a cone/plate viscometer is used to measure the torque and shear stress, which is caused by the viscous resistance of the paste, at a constant temperature, to determine the viscosity of the paste.
