Storage, Handling and Installation; - Part 4. Performance test procedures; - Part 5. Identification of visual imperfections; - Part 6. Elastomeric materials - Performance requirements. This Part is the 5th part of GB/T 13871. This Part was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009. This Part uses translation method and identically adopts ISO 6194-5.2008 Rotary-shaft lip-type seals incorporating elastomeric sealing elements - Part 5. Identification of visual imperfections. Versions of standard substituted by this Standard are. - GB/T 17446-2012 Fluid power systems and components - Vocabulary (ISO 5598.2008, IDT) - GB/T 13871.2-2015 Rotary shaft lip-type seals incorporating elastomeric sealing elements - Part 2. Vocabulary (ISO 6194-2.2009, MOD) This Part makes the following editorial modifications. - modified the first paragraph “6.1 of ISO 6194-1.2007” in Clause 1 “Foreword” as the second paragraph and directly merged the content of 6.1 in ISO 6194-1.2007 into the description; the previous second paragraph was merged into the first paragraph; - deleted “NOTE” of Clause 1; - deleted “Bibliography”. 1 Scope

This Part defines and classifies typical surface imperfections that can impair the function of the seals and is intended as a convenience for purchasers and manufacturers in their discussions concerning the importance of these imperfections in different applications. This Part describes seals utilizing elastomeric sealing elements (hereinafter referred to as seals). They are normally considered suitable for use only at low pressures (air side pressure is atmospheric pressure; liquid side pressure is higher than atmospheric pressure by 0 kPa ~ 30 kPa).
