GB/T 11918 Plugs, socket-outlets and couplers for industrial purposes is planed to be divided into 4 parts. — Part 1.General requirements; — Part 2.Dimensional compatibility and interchangeability requirements for pin and contact - tube accessories; — Part 3.(name to be determined); — Part 4.Switched socket-outlets and connectors with or without interlock. This Part is Part 4 of GB/T 11918. This Part is drafted in accordance with the rules specified in GB/T 1.1-2009. This Part uses re-drafting method to modify and adopt IEC 60309-4.2012 Plugs, socket-outlets and couplers for industrial purposes - Part 4.Switched socket-outlets and connectors with or without interlock. Technical differences between this Part and IEC 60309-4.2012, and the reasons, are as follows. — For normative references, this Part makes adjustments of technical difference, so as to adapt to the technical requirements of China. Such adjustments are collectively reflected in Chapter 2 “Normative References”; the detailed adjustments are as follows. • Replace IEC 60617-DB.2001 with GB/T 4728 (all parts) Graphical symbols for electrical diagrams [IEC 60617 DB (all parts); • Replace IEC 60417-DB.2002 with GB/T 5465 (all parts) Graphical symbols for electrical equipment [IEC 60417 DB (all parts)]; • Replace IEC 60947-1.2004 with GB 14048.1 Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear - Part 1.General rules (GB/T 14048.1-2012, IEC 60947-l.2011, MOD); • Replace IEC 60947-5- 1.2003 with GB 14048.5 Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear - Part 5-1.Control circuit devices and switching element - Electromechanical control circuit devices (GB 14048.5-2008, IEC 60947-5-1.2003, MOD); • Add a supplement to GB 14048.3 Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear - Part 3.Switches, disconnectors, switch-disconnectors and fuse-combination units (GB 14048.3-2008, IEC 60947-3.2005, IDT). — Add Chinese mark of off/on position in 7.2; — Delete IEC 60947-3 and the symbols from the column 7.2 “Switches”. This Part makes the editorial changes as follows. — Add “this Part of GB/T 11918 specifies the technical requirements of plugs, socket-outlets and couplers for industrial purposes with or without interlock, such as protection against electric shock, interlocking, switches and elements, structures, mechanical strength and electric properties” in Chapter 1; — Exchange the orders of Chapter 3 and Chapter 2 of IEC 60309-4.2012, that is, make the “Normative References” as Chapter 2 and the “Terms and Definitions” as Chapter 3; — For the convenience of reference, notes are given to the definitions 3.103, 3.103.1, 3.103.1.1, 3.103.1.1.1, 3.103.1.2, 3.104, 3.105, 3.107; the serial numbers of the definitions in GB14048 are supplemented; — The text of this Part adopts the definitions of actuators and position indicators. For the convenience of reference, this Part cites the definitions given in GB 14048, and adds 3.103.1.1.2 “Actuators” and 3.103.1.1.3 “Position indicators”. — Delete the titles of 12.7 and 12.8; — Add the title of Table 11 “Test Current and Cross-sectional Area of Conductors of Temperature Rise Test”; — As GB/T 11918.1 adjusts the serial numbers of the Tables in IEC 60309-1, the numbers of the tables cited in this Part from GB/T 11918.1 are revised accordingly. 1 Scope

3 Terms and definitions

For the purpose of this document, the following terms and definitions given in GB/T 11918.1-2014 and GB/T 11918.2-2014 apply.

4 General

Components incorporated or integrated in products (e.g. flexible cable, current cut-outs, thermal cut-outs, safety transformers, switches, fuses, residual current devices, lampholders and connecting devices) shall comply with the relevant standards as far as they reasonably apply.

5 Standard ratings

For switched socket-outlets with or without interlock according to 6.1.101, the whole unit can have a protection degree different from IP44 or IP67 or IP66/IP67 but not lower than IP44 (see also 8.1).

6 Classification

Classified according to switching devices and interlock facilities.

7 Marking

The marking for rated current, the type reference, the nature of supply, if necessary, and either the name or trademark of the manufacturer or the responsible vendor shall be on the outside of the enclosure, or on the lid, if any, if the latter cannot be removed without the aid of a tool.

8 Dimensions

Replacement of the first 2 paragraphs starting with “Accessories shall” and finishing with “non-interchangeability” by the following.

9 Protection against electric shock

The enclosure shall be designed so that live parts are not accessible when in normal use and when parts which can be removed without the aid of a tool have been removed. ......
