This Standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009. This Standard replaces GB 20074-2006 "External projections from motorcycles and mopeds". 1 Scope

This Standard specifies the classification criteria, general requirements, special requirements and classification test methods of external projections for motorcycles and mopeds. This Standard is applicable to motorcycles and mopeds (hereinafter referred to as the motorcycle).

2 Normative references

3 Terms and definitions

For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply. 3.1 rear cab bulkhead the farthest part of the back of the exterior surface of the cab 3.2 contact angle, α the angle BETWEEN the plane passing through the first contact point of the test device and the motorcycle shown in Figure A.1 and perpendicular to the longitudinal center plane of the motorcycle AND the plane passing the second contact point and the axis of the test device 3.3 stem circular or approximately circular projection or component with relatively constant outer diameter, including bolt and screw head, with accessible free ends 3.4 plate motorcycle 5.1.1 General technical requirements 5.1.1.1 Motorcycle exterior must not have any sharp parts facing outwards. Due to factors such as the shape, size, azimuth, and hardness of these components, it may cause physical injury to pedestrian or driver when a motorcycle and pedestrian encounter a traffic accident such as collision or scraping. 5.1.1.2 When used on a road, the design of components that may touch other's body shall meet the requirements of 5.1.2. 5.1.1.3 External projections made of soft rubber, plastic or covered by these materials with Shore hardness less than A60 (HA) are considered to meet the requirements of 5.1.2. 5.1.1.4 If the two-wheeled motorcycle is equipped with a panel for closing or partially closing the components of the driver, passenger or motorcycle, then the vehicle manufacturer can choose whether the motorcycle is a special enclosed part, OR the external projection of the vehicle meets the requirements of GB 11566. If only the closed part meets the requirements of GB 11566, then the external projections of the rest shall meet the requirements of 5.1.2. At the same time, the company must clearly explain the applicable standards of this part in the corresponding technical documents. 5.1.2 Special technical requirements 5.1.2.1 Requirements for radius of curvature of group 1 parts 5.1.2.1.1 Plate - The radius of curvature of each corner of the plate shall not be less than 3.0 mm; - The radius of curvature of the edge of the plate shall not be less than 0.5 mm. 5.1.2.1.2 Stem - The diameter of stem or similar parts shall not be less than 10 mm; - The radius of curvature of the end of the stem shall not be less than 2.0 mm. 5.1.2.2 Requirements for radius of curvature of group 2 parts 5.1.2.2.1 Plate of GB 11566. 5.2.2.2 For the right tricycle that can clearly see the front forks, wheels, bumpers, fenders, shrouds, trunks and other components, the manufacturer can choose whether the tricycle meets the requirements of GB 11566 or 5.1. And the manufacturer shall explain in the corresponding technical documents. If the motorcycle is equipped with structures or panels for closing or partially closing the driver, passengers, cargo or certain special parts, such as ceilings, roof pillars, doors, door handles, windshields, truck lids, cargo platforms or container, etc., then these components shall meet the requirements of GB 11566. 5.2.2.3 For the right tricycle used for cargo carrying, when it is behind the rear cab bulkhead or it has no rear cab bulkhead, at all accessible edges at the rear of the transverse vertical plane passing 500 mm from R point in the rearmost seat, if the height of protrusion is not less than 1.5 mm, it shall be reversed. 5.2.2.4 In the consistency check, the number plate shall be dismantled. The space or plane for number plate installation shall meet the requirements.

6 Standard implementation

For newly certified vehicle models, it shall be implemented from the date of implementation of this Standard. For the vehicle models on production, it shall be implemented one year after the date of issuance and implementation of this Standard. ......
