Security-related misbehavior detection mechanism for
connected vehicles
1 Scope
This document provides a recommendation for the security-related misbehavior
detection mechanism for connected vehicles. The mechanism includes the following
steps.
a) Data collection. Describe the data and information types obtained from
different sources for misbehavior detection in details, where the sources
include vehicles, infrastructure, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs),
and suppliers. Data collection methods and procedures are beyond the scope
of this document.
b) Detection. Use the collected data to monitor misbehavior.
This document is applicable to the Internet of Vehicles and is intended to facilitate
designers and security solution providers to detect cyber security-related misbehavior.
The methods and procedures for data acquisition and the use of notification modules
are beyond the scope of this document.

A behavior of providing false or misleading data in order to hinder other service
recipients or to operate in a manner beyond the scope of their authorization. The
