Foreword
This Standard replaces "Hot-rolled Quality Carbon Structural Steel Sheets and Strips"
(GB/T 710-1991).
Compared with GB/T 710-1991, main changes in this Standard are as follows.
- ADD order content about hot-rolled steel sheet and strip;
- CANCEL designation of rimmed steel series;
- ADJUST tensile performance indexes;
- IMPROVE deepest drawing grade and grain size grade of deep drawing grade;
- ADJUST thickness scope indexes of cupping test;
- ADD thickness requirements of cold bending test;
- MODIFY requirements on re-inspection.
This Standard was proposed by China Iron and Steel Association.
This Standard is under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee on Iron and
Steel of Standardization Administration of China.

Hot-rolled Quality Carbon Structural Steel Sheets and Strips
1 Scope
This Standard specifies classification, order content, size, shape, permissible deviation,
technical requirement, test method, inspection rule, packaging, marking and inspection
certificate of hot-rolled quality carbon structural steel sheets and strips.
This Standard is applicable to hot-rolled quality carbon structural steel sheets and
strips (hereinafter referred to as steel sheets and strips) with thickness less than 3mm
and width not less than 600mm.

3 Classification and Code
According to drawing grade, steel sheet and strip is divided into three grades.
- Deepest drawing grade (Z);
- Deep drawing grade (S);
- Common drawing grade (P).
4 Order Content
4.1 Order contract shall cover the following items.
a) Product name (steel sheet or strip);
b) Serial number of this code;
c) Size and precision;
d) Designation;
e) Weight;
f) Edge condition (EC or EM);
g) Delivery condition;
h) Drawing grade;
i) Special requirements.
4.2 If edge condition, delivery condition, thickness precision and drawing grade are not
indicated in order contract, goods are supplied according to non-trimmed, hot-rolled
condition, common thickness precision and common drawing grade.
If surface condition is not indicated in the order, the delivery will be carried out
