Code for engineering acceptance of generic cabling system
1 General provisions
1.0.1 This Code is formulated, to unify the technical requirements for construction
quality inspection, on-site inspection, completion acceptance of generic cabling system
projects for buildings and building complexes.
1.0.2 This Code is applicable to the acceptance of generic cabling system projects for
newly built, expanded, renovated buildings and building complexes.
1.0.3 During the construction process, the construction organization shall comply with
the requirements on construction quality inspection. The building organization shall
strengthen on-site quality inspection, through construction site representatives or
project supervisors; organize the inspection, signoff, certification work of concealed
work in a timely manner.
1.0.4 Self-test and completion acceptance test shall be carried out, before acceptance of
the generic cabling project.
1.0.5 In addition to complying with this Code, the acceptance of generic cabling system
projects shall also comply with the provisions of relevant national standards.

3 Environment examination
3.0.1 The building environment examination of work areas, telecommunications rooms,
equipment rooms, etc. shall comply with the following requirements:
1 The civil works in the work area, telecommunications room, equipment room, user
unit area shall be completed. The floor of the building shall be flat and smooth; the
height and width of the door shall comply with the requirements of design
document.
2 The location, quantity, size of embedded trough boxes, concealed conduits, holes,
shafts in the building shall comply with the requirements of design document.
3 Where the raised floor is laid, the anti-static measures and earthing of the raised
floor shall comply with the requirements of design document.
4 The height -- from the bottom of the information socket box, which is concealed
or exposed on the wall or column to the ground -- should be 300 mm.
5 The height -- from the bottom of the information socket box, which is installed on
the side partition of the workbench to the adjacent wall -- should be 1000 mm.
6 The CP assembly point box and multi-user information socket box should be
installed on the inlet side of the duct, as well as on columns and load-bearing walls,
which are easy for maintenance. The height of the bottom edge of the box, above
the ground, should be 500 mm. When installed on the upper part of the wall or
column OR when installed in a suspended ceiling, the height from the ground
should not be less than 1800 mm.
7 Each work area should be equipped with no less than 2 single-phase AC 220 V/10
A power socket boxes, which have protective earthing. The power socket should
be inlaid and concealed in the wall; the height shall be consistent with the
information socket.
8 It should reserve two single-phase AC 220 V/10 A power sockets, at a level of 70
mm ~ 150 mm near the information distribution box of each user unit. The
distribution lines of each power socket shall be equipped with protective electrical
appliances. The single-phase AC 220 V power supply shall be introduced into the
wiring box. The power socket should be inlaid and concealed in the wall; the height
from the bottom to the ground should be consistent with the information wiring
box.
9 No less than 2 single-phase AC 220 V/10 A power socket boxes shall be installed
in the telecommunications room, equipment room, incoming line room. The
distribution line of each power socket shall be equipped with a protector. The power
supply of the equipment shall be configured separately. The power socket should
be inlaid and concealed in the wall; the height from the bottom to the ground should
be 300 mm.
10 Reliable grounding equipotential bonding terminal boards shall be provided, in
telecommunications rooms, equipment rooms, incoming line rooms, weak current
shafts. The grounding resistance value and grounding wire specifications shall
meet the design requirements.
11 Factors such as the location, area, height, ventilation, fire protection,
environmental temperature, humidity of telecommunications rooms, equipment
rooms, incoming line rooms shall meet the design requirements.
3.0.2 The inspection of the building’s incoming line room and entrance facilities shall
meet the following requirements:
1 The number, combination and arrangement of incoming pipes, as well as the
location and spacing between other facilities, such as electrical, water, gas, sewers,
etc., shall comply with the requirements of the design documents;
2 The laying method used for incoming cables shall comply with the requirements
of the design documents;
3 The treatment of the pipeline inlet shall meet the design requirements; measures
5 Metal pipe troughs shall be galvanized or otherwise anti-corrosion treated,
according to the requirements of the engineering environment. Plastic pipe troughs
shall be flame-retardant pipe troughs; the outer walls shall have flame-retardant
markings;
6 The materials and specifications of various metal parts shall meet the quality
requirements; there shall be no skew, twist, burr, break or damage;
7 The surface treatment and plating of metal parts shall be uniform and complete;
the surface shall be smooth, without defects such as falling off or blisters.
4.0.3 The inspection of cables shall comply with the following requirements:
1 The types and specifications of cables and optical cables used in the project as well
as the flame retardant grade of the cables shall comply with the requirements of the
design documents.
2 The cable's exit-factory quality inspection report, certificate, exit-factory test
record and other accompanying materials shall be complete. The attached signs and
labels shall be complete and clear; the outer packaging shall indicate the model and
specifications.
3 The outer packaging and outer sheath of the cable must be intact. When the outer
packaging of the panel or box is seriously damaged, it shall be inspected according
to the cable product requirements; used in the project after passing the test.
4 The cables shall be accompanied by an electrical performance inspection report
for this batch. Before construction, the cable lengths and index parameters of the
panels and boxes shall be randomly inspected, according to cable product standards.
The provided equipment cables and jumpers shall also be randomly inspected; the
test records shall be made.
5 After opening the optical cable, it shall first check whether the end seal of optical
cable is in good condition. When the optical cable’s outer packaging or optical
cable sheath is damaged, the optical fiber cable shall be tested for optical fiber
performance indexes, which shall comply with the following requirements:
1) When there is fiber breakage, it shall be processed and used after passing the
inspection;
2) The markings on ends A and B of the optical cable shall be correct and obvious;
3) After the fiber testing is completed, the end shall be sealed and fixed; the outer
packaging shall be restored.
6 Single-coil of optical cables shall be tested for length of each optical fiber.
7 The inspection of optical fiber splicing cords or optical jumpers shall comply with
the following requirements:
1) The end faces of the optical fiber connecting devices at both ends shall be
equipped with appropriate protective caps;
2) Optical fibers shall have obvious type markings; they shall comply with the
requirements of design document;
3) Use an optical fiber end-face tester to randomly inspect the end faces of the
batch of optical connection devices; the proportion should not be greater than
5% ~ 10%.
4.0.4 The inspection of connecting devices shall comply with the following
requirements:
1 The components of wiring modules, information socket modules and other
connecting devices shall be complete; the electrical and mechanical performance
and other indicators shall comply with the quality standards of the corresponding
products. Plastic materials shall be flame retardant AND meet design requirements.
2 The type, quantity, port location of optical fiber connecting devices and adapters
shall be consistent with the design. Optical fiber connecting devices shall have a
smooth and clean appearance, without defects such as oil stains, burrs, scars, cracks;
the combination of various components shall be tight and smooth.
4.0.5 The use of cabling equipment shall comply with the following requirements:
1 The types and specifications of optical and cabling equipment shall comply with
the requirements of the design documents;
2 The arrangement and label names of optical and cabling equipment shall be
consistent with the design. The names of various signs shall be unified; the position
of the signs shall be correct and clear.
4.0.6 The inspection of test instruments and tools shall comply with the following
requirements:
1 Instruments and tools that need to be used in the project shall be tested or inspected
in advance. Cable testing instruments shall be accompanied by certification
documents from the testing agency.
2 The test instrument shall be able to test various electrical performance and
transmission characteristics of the corresponding cabling level; its accuracy shall
meet the corresponding requirements. The accuracy of the test instrument shall be
regularly inspected and calibrated, according to the corresponding identification
procedures and calibration methods. It can only be used within the validity period,
4 The opening and closing of the door lock shall be flexible and reliable;
5 Cabinets, wiring boxes, bridges and other equipment shall be installed firmly.
When there are seismic requirements, they shall be reinforced according to seismic
design.
5.0.2 The installation of various wiring components shall comply with the following
requirements:
1 All components shall be complete, installed in place; the marking shall be complete
and clear;
2 The mounting screws shall be tightened; the panel shall remain on a flat surface.
5.0.3 The installation of information socket modules shall comply with the following
requirements:
1 The installation position and height of the information socket bottom box, multi-
user information socket, assembly point wiring box, user unit information wiring
box shall comply with the requirements of design document.
2 When installed in the raised floor or on the ground, it shall be fixed in the junction
box. The socket panel shall be upright or horizontal. The junction box cover can be
opened and shall be waterproof, dustproof, pressure-resistant. The junction box
cover shall be flush with the ground.
3 When the information socket module and power socket are installed in the bottom
box of the information socket at the same time, the spacing and protective measures
taken shall comply with the requirements of design document.
4 The fixing method of the surface-mounted information socket bottom box shall be
determined, according to the construction site conditions.
5 The fixing screws shall be tightened; they shall not be loose.
6 Various socket panels shall be marked with colors, graphics, text, to indicate the
service type of the connected terminal equipment.
7 The optical fiber connecting devices and adapter installation bottom boxes for
terminating optical cables in the work area shall have space. They shall meet the
requirements of the design documents.
5.0.4 The installation of cable trays shall comply with the following requirements:
1 The installation position shall comply with the requirements of the construction
drawing; the left and right deviation shall not exceed 50 mm;
2 The installation level deviation shall not exceed 2 mm per meter;
3 Vertical installation shall be kept perpendicular to the ground; the perpendicularity
deviation shall not exceed 3 mm;
4 The cutting and splicing parts of the cable tray shall be smooth without burrs;
5 The installation of hangers and brackets shall be kept vertical, neat and firm,
without any skew;
6 The metal cable trays and metal conduit sections shall be well connected and
installed firmly;
7 When using vertical trough boxes to lay cables, the support points should avoid
the ground trenches and trough boxes; the support shall be firm.
5.0.5 The earthing electrode, which is used when installing cabinets, wiring boxes,
wiring equipment shields, metal conduits, cable trays, shall comply with the
requirements of the design documents and be earthed nearby; it shall maintain good
electrical connections.
6 Examination of cable laying and protective measures
6.1 Cable laying
6.1.1 The laying of cables shall comply with the following requirements:
1 The type and specifications of cables shall be consistent with the design
requirements.
2 The laying method and layout spacing of cables in various environments shall
comply with the design requirements.
3 The cables shall be laid out naturally and straight, without twisting or looping; they
shall not be squeezed or damaged by external forces.
4 Cable joints must not appear in the routing of cables.
5 Both ends of the cable shall be labeled and numbered; the label writing shall be
clear, straight, correct. Labels shall be made of materials, that are not easily
damaged.
6 Cables shall have margin, to accommodate termination, final connection, testing,
changes. If there are special requirements, the length shall be reserved according
to the design requirements, which shall comply with the following requirements:
1) At the termination point of the twisted pair cable, the reserved length in the
bottom box of the information socket should be 30 mm ~ 60 mm in the work
2 The embedded trough box should be a metal trough box; the cross-section
utilization rate shall be 30% ~ 50%.
3 Concealed conduits should be made of steel pipes or flame-retardant polyvinyl
chloride pipes. When laying amplified pair of trunk cables and optical cables with
more than 4 cores, the diameter utilization rate of straight ducts shall be 50% ~
60%; the diameter utilization rate of curved ducts shall be 40% ~ 50%. When laying
4 pairs of twisted cables or optical cables with 4 cores or less, the cross-sectional
utilization rate of the pipeline shall be 25% ~ 30%.
4 In places where metal materials are severely corroded, metal conduits and bridge
wiring should not be used.
5 Metal conduits and trough boxes shall be used for wiring in the suspended ceiling
of the building.
6 Where conduits and bridges span the deformation joints of buildings,
compensation devices shall be installed.
6.1.3 Setting up cable trays and laying cables shall comply with the following
requirements:
1 The cables in the sealed trough box shall be laid out in a straight line and should
not cross. The cables shall be tied and fixed, where they enter and exit the trough
box and where they turn.
2 When laying cables vertically in a ladder frame or tray, the cable shall be fixed on
the bracket of the ladder frame or tray, at the upper end of the cable and at interval
of 1.5 m. When laying cables horizontally, the cable shall be fixed, at the beginning,
end, turn or an interval of 5 m ~ 10 m the cable.
3 When laying cables in horizontal or vertical ladder frames or tray, the cables shall
be tied. Twisted cables, optical cables and other signal cables shall be bundled,
according to the category, quantity, cable diameter, number of cable cores. The
binding spacing should not be greater than 1.5 m; the spacing shall be even; the
binding should not be too tight or cause the cables to be squeezed.
4 When indoor optical cables are laid open in a ladder frame or tray, a cushion cover
shall be added on the binding fixed section.
6.1.4 When using ceiling support columns (vertical trough boxes) to lay cables in the
ceiling, the cables within the range of each support column may be laid without a sealed
trough box; however, they shall be bundled; the cables shall be flame retardant; the
cable selection shall comply with the requirements of design document.
6.1.5 For the construction quality inspection and acceptance of cable laying in the
building group subsystem, using methods such as overhead, pipelines, cable trenches,
cable tunnels, direct burial, walls, concealed conduits, it shall comply with the relevant
provisions of the current industry standard "Acceptance specifications for
telecommunication cable line engineering" YD 5121.
6.2 Protective measures
6.2.1 The cable laying protection of the wiring subsystem shall comply with the
following requirements:
1 When metal conduits and troughs are laid openly, it shall meet the following
requirements:
1) When the trough box is laid in an exposed manner, the distance between it and
the beams or side walls or other obstacles should not be less than 100 mm;
2) The connection part of the trough box shall not be set at the hole, that passes
through the floor slab and the solid wall;
3) The fixed distance -- between vertical conduits and cable trough boxes on the
wall -- should not be greater than 1500 mm;
4) Pipe clamps shall be used at 300 mm away from the junction box, on both sides
of the elbow, at an interval of 3 m.
2 The protection of embedded metal trough boxes shall comply with the following
requirements:
1) Pre-embedded trough boxes in buildings should be arranged in a single layer.
Each route shall not have more than 3 embedded trough boxes, which enter
and exit the same crossing box. The cross-sectional height of the trough boxes
should not exceed 25 mm; the total width should not exceed 300 mm. When
trough box routing includes crossing boxes and outlet boxes, the cross-
sectional height should be within the range of 70 mm ~ 100 mm;
2) When the trough box is directly buried for more than 30 m OR when the trough
box crosses or turns in the trough box routing, it should set a crossing box;
3) The cover of the crossing box shall be openable and shall be flush with the
ground. The cover shall be dust-proof and waterproof;
4) The cover of the crossing box and junction box shall be able to withstand
pressure;
5) The cables, which connect from the metal trough box to the information socket
module’s junction box, 86 bottom box OR between the metal trough box and
the metal steel pipe, should be laid using metal hoses.
2) When ladder frames and trays are laid horizontally, the support spacing should
be 1.5 m ~ 3.0 m. When laid vertically, the spacing when fixed on the building
structure should be less than 2 m. The part below 1.8 m from the ground shall
be protected by a metal cover OR encapsulated by a metal wiring cabinet;
however, the door shall be openable;
3) Telescopic compensation devices shall be installed, where the straight-line
ladder frame or tray exceeds 15 m ~ 30 m OR where it spans a building
deformation joint;
4) When metal trough boxes are laid in an exposed manner, brackets or hangers
shall be installed, at the joints of the trough boxes, at an interval of 3 m, 0.5 m
away from the exits at both ends of the trough box, at corners;
5) The distance between fixed points, at the bottom of the plastic trough box,
should be 1 m;
6) The turning radius of the cable tray shall not be less than the minimum
allowable bending radius of the cables in the trough; the minimum bending
radius at the right-angle bend shall not be less than 10 times the outer diameter
of the thickest cable in the trough;
7) When the tray passes through a fireproof wall or floor, fireproof sealing
measures shall be taken, after the cable layout is completed.
5 The protection of network floor cable laying shall comply with the following
requirements:
1) The trough boxes shall communicate with each other;
2) The cover of the trough box shall be openable;
3) The width of the main trough box should be 200 mm ~ 400 mm; the width of
the branch trough box should not be less than 70 mm;
4) Between the openable trough box cover and the exposed socket bottom box, it
shall be connected with a metal hose;
5) Floor blocks and trough box covers shall be pressure-resistant, impact-resistant,
flame-retardant;
6) The network floor with anti-static function shall be earthed as a whole;
7) The metal trough box sections between network floor panels shall maintain
good conduction and earthing.
6 When laying cables under the raised mobile floor, the headroom inside the floor

Foreword
According to the requirements of Document JIANBIAO [2004] No.67 issued by
the Ministry of Construction (MOC) - "Notice on Printing the Development and
Revision Plan of National Engineering Construction Standards in 2004", the
existing National Engineering Construction Standard, CB/T 50312-2000 “Code
for Engineering Acceptance of Generic Cabling System in Buildings and
Building Complexes” has been revised under the joint effects of the Ministry of
Information Industry (chief drafting department), China Mobile Group Design
Institute Co., Ltd. (participating drafting organization) and other participating
drafting organizations.
In the revision procedure, the drafting organizations have carried out
comprehensive market research and several monographic studies to earnestly
summarize the experiences and lessons of code implementation as well as to
consummate and modify the relevant provisions accordingly. The opinions
from relevant domestic organizations and experts have been widely adopted.
In addition, the contents specified in the relevant standards home and abroad
have been used as reference.
The provision(s) printed in bold type is (are) compulsory and must be enforced
strictly.

Generic Cabling System
1. General Provisions
1.0.1 This Code is formulated with a view to uniform the technical
requirements on installation quality inspection, routine inspection and
final acceptance of the generic cabling system for buildings and
building complexes.
1.0.2 This Code is applicable to the acceptance inspections of the generic
cabling systems in the construction, extension and renovation of
buildings and building complexes.
1.0.3 In the implementation of the generic cabling system, the requirements
on the engineering acceptance stated in the engineering documents
and contract documents shall not be lower than the provisions of this
Code.
1.0.4 In the construction procedure, the construction organization must
comply with the relevant provisions of this Code on engineering
acceptance. The drafting organization shall, through on-site
representative or supervisors, strengthen the construction quality
inspection and timely organize inspection and acceptance for the
concealed works.
1.0.5 The generic cabling system shall comply with the design requirements.
Self-check testing and final acceptance testing shall be carried out
prior to the engineering acceptance.
1.0.6 For the engineering acceptance of generic cabling system, not only the
requirements stipulated in this Code, but also those in the current
relevant ones of the nation shall be complied with.
2. Environment inspection
2.0.1 The inspection of the working area, telecommunication room and
equipment room shall include the following contents.
1 The civil works of the working area, telecommunication room and
equipment room have been completed fully. The flooring shall be
leveling and smooth, and the height and width of the doors shall
comply with the design requirements.
2 For the concealed wire chase, closed conduit, pore space and
vertical shaft, the position, quantity and size shall comply with the
design requirements.
3 In the locations paved with free access floors, the antistatic
measures and grounding of the free access floor shall comply with
the design requirements.
4 In telecommunication room and equipment room, 220V
single-phase electric outlet (with protective ground), shall be
provided.
5 In telecommunication room and equipment room, reliable
grounding connection shall be provided. The ground resistance
value and grounding connection setting shall comply with the
design requirements.
6 The position, floor area, height, ventilation, fire prevention,
environmental temperature and humidity of the telecommunication
room and equipment room shall comply with the design
requirements.
2.0.2 The inspection of the building incoming feeder room and inlet facilities
shall include the following items.
1 The distance between the incoming pipe and other facilities like
power supply, water supply, coal gas and sewerage shall comply
with the design requirements.
2 The cable/wire laying method shall comply with the design
requirements.
3 The treatment in the pipe inlet position shall comply with the
design requirements, and shall be equipped with proper drainage
and other measures to prevent the entrance of gas, water and
insects.
4 The position, floor area, height, lighting, power supply, ground, fire
prevention and waterproof measures of the incoming feeder room
shall comply with the design requirements.
2.0.3 The installation mode of the relevant facilities shall comply with the
antiseismic requirements stated in the design documents.
3. Inspection of equipment and testing instruments/tools
3.0.1 The equipment inspection shall comply with the following
requirements.
1 Brand, model, specification, quantity and quality of the cables and
equipment used in the project shall be inspected prior to
construction. They shall comply with the design requirements and
provide the corresponding quality documents or certificates.
Should the cables or equipment are not supplied with proper
factory inspection certificates, quality documents, or are not in
accordance with the design requirements, they shall not be applied
in the project.
2 The imported equipment and material shall be of origin proof and
inspection certificate.
3 The inspected equipment and material shall be recorded well, and
the ineligible ones shall be stored separately for checking and
disposal.
4 The cable and equipment used in the project shall coincide with
the specification, model and rating stated in the purchase contract
or of the sample product.
5 Spare parts and components as well as and all kinds of
documentary information shall be in full range.
3.0.2 The inspection of the matching material, pipe and ironworks shall be in
accordance with the following requirements.
1 Quality, specification and model of the materials shall meet the
requirements of the design documents, and their surface shall be
smooth, leveling, free of any deformation and fracture. The coating
