1 Scope
This Standard specifies the thresholds and grading requirements and test
methods for coast-by noise for motor vehicle tyres.
This Standard is applicable to new vehicle radial tyres and new mini, light truck
radial tyres and new truck radial tyres, excluding tyres with nominal rim diameter
≤10 inches and nominal rim diameter ≥25 inches, T-type spare tyres for
temporary use only, special ST metric tyres for road trailers, high-passability
radial tyres for light truck vehicle, heavy truck tyres with a speed capability of
80km/h (not included), racing tyres, studded tyres and professional off-road
tyres.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions defined in GB/T
6326 as well as the followings apply.
3.1 traction tyre
Tyres that are mainly designed for driving wheels of vehicles. Compared with
ordinary tyres, this type of tyre has better gripping performance and can
transmit the power of the vehicle to the maximum extent. The tyre tread has at
least 2 circumferential strip patterns. Each pattern contains no less than 30
