1 Scope
This Standard specifies the classification and code, size, shape, weight and
tolerance, surface treatment method, surface quality of hot-rolled pickled steel
sheet and strip.
This Standard is applicable to hot-rolled pickled steel strip of which the
thickness is not greater than 16mm, width is not less than 600mm as well as its
shear steel sheet (hereinafter referred to as steel sheet and strip).
2 Normative references
The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of

references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any

3 Classification and code
3.1 Thickness accuracy is advanced thickness accuracy. The code is PT.C.
3.2 According to surface quality, the classification and code are as follows:
a) Ordinary surface, FA;
b) Higher-level surface, FB;
c) Premium surface, FC.
4 Size, shape, weight and tolerance
4.1 The size, shape, weight and tolerance of steel sheet and strip shall comply
with the provisions of GB/T 709. Specially required by the purchaser and agreed
5 Surface treatment method
Steel sheet and strip shall usually be oiled. The oil film shall be able to be
removed with alkaline aqueous solution. Under the usual packaging,
transportation, loading and unloading and storage conditions, the supplier
guarantees that the surface of the steel sheet and strip shall not rust within 3
months from the date of completion of production. If the purchaser requires the
supply not to be oiled, it shall be negotiated when ordering.
NOTE: For the unoiled products required by the purchaser, rust may occur, and the surface
may be slightly scratched during transportation, handling, storage and use.
6 Surface quality
6.1 Requirements for surface quality of hot-rolled substrate
6.1.1 The surface of the hot-rolled substrate shall not have cracks, scars, folds,
bubbles, inclusions, and iron oxide scales that are harmful to use. There shall
be no visible delamination.
6.1.2 The surface of the hot-rolled substrate is allowed to have local defects
such as pits, pits, roll marks, scratches and so on, whose depth (or height) does
not exceed half of the thickness tolerance of the steel strip. But the minimum
allowable thickness of the steel strip shall be guaranteed.
6.1.3 When the purchaser has special requirements for the surface of the hot-
rolled substrate, a small number of defects that do not affect the formability and
coating and plating adhesion are allowed on the surface, such as slight
scratches, indentations, pitting, roll marks, and color differences.
6.1.4 In the continuous production of steel strips, because local surface defects
are not easy to be found and removed, steel strips are allowed to be delivered
with defects. But the defective part shall not exceed 6% of the total length of
each coil.
6.2 Requirements for surface quality of hot-rolled pickled steel sheet and
strip
6.2.1 The surface quality levels and characteristics of hot-rolled pickled steel
sheet and strip shall comply with the provisions of Table 4.
6.2.2 In the continuous production of steel strips, because local surface defects
are not easy to be found and removed, steel strips are allowed to be delivered
with defects. But the defective part shall not exceed 6% of the total length of
each coil.
