1 Scope
This Standard stipulates the designation representation method, order content,
dimensions, appearances, weights, allowable deviations, technical requirements, test
methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking and quality certificate of hot-rolled wire
rod of ultra-low carbon steel with high boron.
This Standard is applicable to hot-rolled wire rod of ultra-low carbon steel with high
boron with the diameter of 3 mm ~ 60 mm (hereinafter referred to as wire rod).

3 Designation Representation Method
The designations of wire rod are: CH1B, CH3B, CH5B, BP05, BP05D. See the specific
meaning below:
CH1B:
---C represents “carbon”;
---H represents the initials of “high”;
---B represents “boron”;
---1 represents one in ten thousand of carbon content.
BP05D:
---BP represents the initials of “blasting”;
---05 represents five in ten thousand of carbon content;
---D represents the initials of “electric”.
Please refer to Appendix A for the purposes of each designation of steel.
4 Order Content
Order content, which shall be explicitly indicated in the contract, includes:
