Specifications of Multi-Purpose Minivan
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the terms and definitions, basic technical requirements for
operational safety and test methods of the multi-purpose minivan.
This Standard is applicable to all multi-purpose minivans on China’s road.
This Standard is not applicable to the battery electric multi-purpose minivan.

4.3 Requirements for Tyre
The nominal section width of the tyre shall be 165mm and above.
4.4 Requirements for anti-lock braking system
The vehicle shall be equipped with anti-lock braking system.
4.5 Requirements for seat belt
All driver and passenger seats shall be equipped with a three-point (or full-strap) car
seat belt.
4.6 Requirements for seat
4.6.1 The strength of all seats and seat fixtures shall meet the requirements of GB
15083.
4.6.2 The seats shall be arranged as uniform as possible; the distance between the
seats in the same direction shall be no less than 600mm and no greater than 1000mm.
Thereof, the seats in the passenger carriage of Type-B multi-purpose minivan shall be
rigidly connected to the floor, fixed firmly; no flip-up seats are allowed to use here.
4.6.3 All seats and seats arrangement of Type-B multi-purpose minivan shall meet the
requirements for ride comfort; the seat cushion depth is ≥440mm; seat cushion width
≥440mm; the seat spacing is ≥670mm; the backrest height is ≥680mm.
4.7 Requirements for other electrical devices
It shall be equipped with seat belt wearing reminder device for the driver; when the
driver fails to wear the seat belt, it shall be able to alarm through visual and audible
signals.
4.8 Other requirements
It shall meet other relevant mandatory standards requirements.
5 Safety Requirements
5.1 Frontal collision requirements
5.1.1 Technical requirements
5.1.1.1 The dummy in the outside front-row seat and in the middle row seats (for the
vehicle with four-row seats, the middle row indicates the second and the third row of
seats) shall meet the requirements of 4.2.2 in GB 11551-2014 according to the
Hybrid III dummy. Place a dummy that meets the requirements in the rear row
seat; the dummy shall meet the technical requirements and corresponding
adjustable requirements of 5% Hybrid III female dummy. In order to record the
necessary data and facilitate to confirm the performance index, the dummy shall
be equipped with a measurement system that meets the technical requirements
of Appendix D in GB 11551-2014 (except for the 5% Hybrid III female dummy).
b) The restraint system set by the manufacturer shall be used.
c) The test vehicle shall use the dummy to carry out counterweight; it shall verify
the state of the dummy that ride on the vehicle; the weight of the counterweight
dummy shall be consistent with the weight of 50% Hybrid III dummy.
5.1.3.3 Vehicle drive
The vehicle drive shall meet the requirements of 5.3 in GB 11551-2014.
5.1.3.4 Test speed
The test speed shall meet the requirements of 5.4 in GB 11551-2014.
5.1.3.5 Measurement made on the vehicle
The measurement made on the vehicle shall meet the requirements of 5.6 in GB
11551-2014.
5.2 Safety requirements for lateral collision
It shall meet the safety requirements for lateral collision specified in GB 20071.
5.3 Safety requirements for fuel system in rear collision
It shall meet the safety requirements for fuel system in rear collision specified in GB
20072.
5.4 Requirements for top strength
5.4.1 Top strength requirements for Type-A vehicle
Perform the test according to the requirements specified in Clause 5 of GB 26134-
2010; when applying load on any side of the front edge of the roof; the movement of
the lower surface of the loading device shall not exceed 127mm. The size of the load
shall be 3 times of the Kerb mass of the vehicle. Both the left and right front of the roof
structure shall meet the requirements. For vehicles with a symmetrical body structure,
after testing one side, the other side does not have to be tested. The test device shall
meet the requirements of Clause 4 in GB 26134-2010; test procedures shall meet the
requirements of Clause 5 in GB 26134-2010.
