Automotive Application
JB/T 5943 Engineering Machinery General Technical Specifications for
longitudinal swinging of the fifth wheel seat board with rubber damping.
5.1.6 The engaging between the fifth wheel locking hook and the traction pin shall be
reliable; and can realized the self-locking; the matching clearance shall be adjustable;
The adjustment mechanism shall be locked and have a safety device for anti-
looseness.
5.2 Parts requirements
5.2.1 The fifth wheel spring shall use the spring conforming to the provisions of GB/T
4357; after the spring is assembled, the tensile force shall be no less than 90% original
tensile force after 15000 stretching and rebound operations.
5.2.2 The rubber material for the fifth wheel shall use the Class-AA rubber material
specified in HG/T 2196-2004.
5.2.3 The welding quality of the components shall conform to the relevant provisions
of JB/T 5943.
5.2.4 The joint surface of the fifth wheel seat board shall be equipped with an oil
storage groove; the flatness of the joint surface shall be 1.0mm.
5.2.5 The hardness of the joint surface between the fifth wheel locking hook and
traction pin shall be HRC25~32; and shall be lower than the hardness of the joint
surface of the traction pin.
5.2.6 The exposed surface of the fifth wheel shall be treated for rust prevention.
5.2.7 The paint coating of the fifth wheel shall conform to the relevant provisions of
TQ4 in QC/T 484-1999.
5.2.8 The fifth wheel seat board shall be made of Q345 steel.
5.3 Performance requirements
5.3.1 The longitudinal swing angle of the fifth wheel seat board against the up and
down of the horizontal plane shall be no less than 12°, see Figure 1.
5.3.2 The lateral swing angle of the single axial line fifth wheel seat board against the
horizontal plane shall be no greater than 3°, and the damping sleeve shall be provided
at the rotating shaft. The lateral swing angle of the double axial line fifth wheel seat
board against the horizontal plane shall be no less than 3° and no greater than 7°, and
buffer device shall be added on the left and right sides. The lateral swing angle of the
rubber bearing fifth wheel against the horizontal surface shall be no greater than 5°.
5.3.3 The fifth wheel locking hook and traction pin shall be separated easily by hand;
the handle of the pull rod is set to the right of the driving direction; for 50# fifth wheel,
6.2.4 The force measured as per the methods of 6.2.2 and 6.2.3 shall meet the
requirements of 5.2.1, 5.3.3 and 5.3.5.
7 Inspection Rules
7.1 Exit-factory inspection
7.1.1 The fifth wheel can leave the factory after inspecting qualified by the quality
supervisions department of the manufacturer, and issuing the product certificate of
conformity.
7.1.2 The exit-factor inspection items are as follows:
a) Appearance;
b) 5.1.3, 5.1.4, 5.1.5, 5.1.6, 5.2.6, 5.3.1 and 5.3.2 of this Standard.
7.2 Type inspection
7.2.1 In case one of the following conditions, the product shall be carried out the type
inspection:
a) When the new and old products transfer to other factory for finalizing identification;
b) When the product performance may be influenced, after formal production, there
are major changes in structure, material, and process;
c) When every two years of the normal production and the output exceeds 20000
sets;
d) When the production is recovered after the shutdown for more than 1 year;
e) When the product supervision agency proposes the requirements for type
inspection.
7.2.2 The type inspection items shall be all the contents in Clause 5.
7.2.3 The fifth wheel for type inspection shall be randomly selected from the products
that have passed the factory inspection. The sampling base shall be no less than 100
sets; while the sampling number shall be 3 sets.
7.2.4 When any one sub-index in the type inspection fails, the number of sampling is
allowed to be double; reinspect such item. If the reinspection is qualified, then such
batch of products are judged as qualified; otherwise, they are disqualified.
