This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This standard replaces GB/T 21138-2007 "Tobacco Seeds" and GB/T 25240-2010 "Tobacco Coated Pill Seeds". versus
Compared with GB/T 25240-2010, GB/T 21138-2007, the main technical changes are as follows.
--- Revised the terms and definitions of improved varieties (see 3.4, 3.4 of GB/T 21138-2007);
--- Increase the terminology and definition of conventional seeds, hybrid seeds, and male sterile lines (see 3.5, 3.6, 3.7);
--- Increased the terminology and definition of compressive strength compliance, and removed the term and definition of single compressive strength (see 3.15);
--- Increased particle size compliance terms and definitions, removed particle size, uniformity terms and definitions (see 3.16);
--- Revised the quality requirements of tobacco seeds (see 4.1 and 4.2, Chapter 5 of GB/T 21138-2007 and GB/T 25240-
4.2 of.2010);
--- Increased operational procedures for seed quality testing (see 5.1);

1 Scope
This standard specifies the quality requirements for tobacco seeds, seed quality inspection, packaging and labeling, seed storage and transportation requirements.
This standard applies to the production and processing, storage, transportation and sale of tobacco naked seeds and pelletized seeds.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

Tobacco seeds that have not been coated or pelletized.
3.2
Tobacco pelletized seedededededsoftobacco
The pelletized tobacco seed formed after processing is coated with a seed coating agent.
Note. Tobacco leaf production is customarily called tobacco coated seeds.
3.3
Original foundationseeds
The first generation to be propagated from the original stock or the tobacco seed produced to the specified quality requirements according to the specific production technical regulations.
3.4
Daejeon used qualifiedseeds
The first generation to be propagated with the original or hybrid parents to meet the specified quality requirements for the production of tobacco leaves.

Conventional seeds qualifiedseedsofself-polinatedvarieties
Seeds produced by self-crossing.
3.6
Hybrid seed qualifiedseedsofhybridvarieties
Seeds produced by sexual crosses between different parents.
