1 Scope
This Standard stipulates the test methods for energy consumption of light-duty hybrid
electric vehicles equipped with ignition engine or compression ignition engine.
This Standard is applicable to Category-N1 vehicles equipped with ignition engine or
compression ignition engine, and Category-M1 and Category-M2 vehicles with a
maximum design total mass of not more than 3,500 kg. Category-M1 vehicles with a
maximum design total mass of more than 3,500 kg may take this as a reference.

3 Terms and Definitions
What is defined in GB/T 15089, GB/T 19596, GB 18352.6-2016 and GB/T 38146.1-
2019, and the following terms and definitions are applicable to this document.
3.1 All-electric Range
AER
All-electric range refers to the distance traveled by the vehicle from the start of the
charge-depleting mode test to the start of the engine; the upper limit of the distance is
the charge-depleting actual range.
3.2 Charge-depleting Actual Range
RCDA
Charge-depleting actual range refers to the distance traveled by the vehicle from the
start of the charge-depleting mode test, and through the continuous operation of
multiple test cycles, until the rechargeable energy storage system (REESS) reaches a
power balance.
3.3 Charge-depleting Cycle Range
RCDC
Charge-depleting cycle range refers to the distance traveled by the vehicle at the end
of the transition cycle, from the start of the charge-depleting mode test, and through
the continuous operation of multiple test cycles, until the determination conditions of
termination specified in 6.2.2.5 are reached.
4 Test Conditions
4.1 Environmental Requirements and Parameters
The environmental requirements and parameters of the tests shall comply with the
stipulations of C.1.2.2 in GB 18352.6-2016.
4.2 Test Equipment
4.2.1 The test equipment used for the tests shall satisfy the requirements of Appendix
CD of GB 18352.6-2016.
4.2.2 The requirements for other related parameters are shown in Table 1.
4.3 Test Fuels
The type test shall be based on the minimum code recommended by the vehicle
manufacturer and adopt the benchmark fuel that complies with the requirements of
Appendix K of GB 18352.6-2016; additional oxygen-containing substances are
prohibited in the fuel. When fuel types that are not specified in Appendix K of GB
18352.6-2016 are used, commercial vehicle fuels that comply with relevant national
standards shall be used.
4.4 Test Vehicles
4.4.1 All parts and components of the test vehicle shall satisfy the requirements of
mass production. If the test vehicle is different from those in mass production, a
detailed explanation is required.
4.4.3 The test vehicle may by running in based on the vehicle manufacturer or its
authorized agent’s demands. In addition, it shall be ensured that the machinery is in
good condition and the running-in mileage does not exceed 15,000 km.
4.4.4 Lubricants specified by the vehicle manufacturer shall be used and indicated in
the report of test results.
4.4.5 Conduct the other settings of the test vehicle in accordance with the requirements
of C.1.2.4.2 ~ C.1.2.4.5 and C.1.2.4.7 in GB 18352.6-2016.
4.5 Test Cycle
The test cycle is the Worldwide-harmonized Light vehicles Test Cycle (WLTC)

5 Test-related Parameters and Precisions
The test result-related parameters and precisions shall comply with the requirements
of Table 2.When calculating in accordance with the stipulations of Chapter 7, unless it
is otherwise specified, the process data shall not be rounded off.
6 Test Procedures
6.1 Test Requirements
6.1.1 General requirements
6.1.2 Special requirements for charge-sustaining mode test of off-vehicle
charging hybrid electric vehicle (OVC-HEV) and test of non-off-vehicle charging
hybrid electric vehicle (NOVC-HEV)
6.1.2.1 It is applicable to the forced cooling specified in C.1.2.7.2 of GB 18352.6-2016.
6.1.2.2 Test validity determination. If EREESS,CS calculated in accordance with A.1.3 of
Appendix A is negative (namely, REESS is in discharge), and the cycle correction
criterion c is greater than 0.01, then, the test result is invalid.
6.1.3 Test requirements under special environmental conditions
The vehicle manufacturer and its authorized agent may take the environmental settings
of Appendix A,
6.2 Test Procedures
6.2.1 Test options
The test includes the following four options, as it is shown in Figure 1.
6.2.2 Separately conducted charge-depleting mode test (Option 1, test process
and corresponding REESS charging state curve are shown in B.2.1 of Appendix B)
6.2.2.1 Pre-treatment
The vehicle shall receive pre-treatment in accordance with the stipulations of C.2.1 of Appendix C.
6.2.2.2 Test rules
6.2.2.5 Determination conditions of termination
6.2.2.6 REESS charging and electricity measurement
6.2.2.6.2 In accordance with the relevant requirements of C.2.3.1, the electricity
measurement equipment shall be installed to measure the externally charged
electricity EAC and the charging time. When the requirements of C.2.3.3 are satisfied,
stop the electricity measurement.
6.2.2.7 Other requirements for test results
Each cycle emission result after degradation correction and Ki (or Ki,CO2) correction
shall comply with the requirements for emission limits in C.1.1.2 of GB 18352.6-2016.
The degradation coefficient or degradation correction value is determined in
accordance with the requirements of 5.3.5 of GB 18352.6-2016; Ki (or Ki,CO2) is
determined in accordance with Appendix Q of GB 18352.6-2016.
6.2.3 Separately conducted charge-sustaining mode test (Option 2, test process
and corresponding REESS charging state curve are shown in B.2.2)
6.2.4 Continuously conducted charge-depleting mode test and charge-
sustaining mode test (Option 3, test process and corresponding REESS
charging state curve are shown in B.2.3)
6.2.5 Continuously conducted charge-sustaining mode test and charge-
depleting mode test (Option 4, test process and corresponding REESS charging
state curve are shown in B.2.4)
6.2.5.1 The charge-sustaining mode test shall be conducted in accordance with the
stipulations of 6.2.3.1 ~ 6.2.3.3.
6.2.5.2 The charge-depleting mode test shall be conducted in accordance with the
stipulations of 6.2.2.2 ~ 6.2.2.7.
6.3 OVC-HEV Test Procedures
The vehicle may be tested in accordance with one of the four options below.
6.4 NOVC-HEV Test Procedures
6.4.1 The test process and corresponding REESS charging state curve may take B.2.2
as a reference.
6.4.2 Pre-treatment and vehicle immersion shall be conducted in accordance with the
stipulations of C.3.2 and C.3.3.
6.4.3 The test rules shall comply with the stipulations of 6.2.3.2.
6.4.4 The test procedures shall comply with the stipulations of 6.2.3.3.
7 Test Results
7.1 OVC-HEV Test Results
7.1.1 Fuel consumption
7.1.1.1 Fuel consumption of charge-depleting mode test
7.1.1.1.1 Calculation process
In accordance with the sequence of Table 3, perform calculations. Record all results in
the “Output” column. The annotations of symbols used in the formulas of this Table are
as follows.
7.1.1.1.2 In accordance with Formula (4), calculate the fuel consumption of the charge-
depleting mode test.
7.1.1.2 Fuel consumption of charge-sustaining mode test
7.1.1.2.1 Calculation process
In accordance with the sequence of Table 4, perform calculations. Record all results in
the “Output” column. The annotations of symbols used in the formulas of this Table are
as follows.
7.1.1.2.2 If the test result satisfies the conditions of A.1.2.3, then, no correction is
needed; the fuel consumption shall be determined in accordance with Formula (5) and
Formula (6).
7.1.1.2.3 If the test result satisfies the conditions of A.1.2.2, then, the fuel consumption
needs to be corrected. On the premise of compliance with the conditions of A.2.2, in
accordance with A.2.3, determine the fuel consumption correction factor; then,
determine in accordance with Formula (7) and Formula (8).
7.1.1.3 OVC-HEV fuel consumption
Combine the calculation results of 7.1.1.1 and 7.1.1.2; in accordance with Formula (9),
calculate OVC-HEV fuel consumption.
7.1.1.4 Converted fuel consumption
The vehicle manufacturer may calculate the vehicle’s converted fuel consumption as
needed in accordance with G.
7.1.2 Electricity consumption
7.1.2.1 Electricity consumption of charge-depleting mode test
In accordance with the stipulations of 6.2.2.6 and Formula (10), calculate electricity
consumption of charge-depleting mode test.
7.1.2.2 OVC-HEV electricity consumption
OVC-HEV electricity consumption shall be calculated in accordance with Formula (13).
7.1.3 Actual range of charge-depleting mode test
7.3 Determination of Type Approval Value
7.3.1 Test description
7.3.1.1 The number of tests shall be determined in accordance with Figure 2.
7.3.1.2 The procedures specified in Figure 2 are applicable to a complete test cycle
but not applicable to a single speed section of the test cycle.
7.3.1.3 The test results are corrected by REESS electrical energy changes and Ki.

7.3.2 Determination of test results
7.3.2.1 The vehicle manufacturer shall declare the results of the test vehicle throughout
the test cycle in accordance with Table 5.
7.3.3 Fuel consumption of each speed section of charge-sustaining mode test
7.3.3.1 In the charge-sustaining mode test, if the type approval value FCCS uses the
comprehensive value declared by the vehicle manufacturer, then, the type approval
value of fuel consumption of each speed section shall be the result of the arithmetic
mean value FCCS,p,avg of fuel consumption of each speed section determined through
Formula (6) or Formula (8) multiplied by the adjustment factor FC_AF determined by
Formula (18) and Formula (19).
7.3.5 OVC-HEV electricity consumption
In accordance with Formula (21), calculate the type approval value of OVC-HEV
electricity consumption.
8 Interpolation Method of a Certain Vehicle
8.1 Interpolation Conditions
8.1.1 The interpolation method can only be used when the stipulations of C.1.2.3.1.1
in GB 18352.6-2016 are satisfied.
8.1.5 Requirements for vehicle M. Vehicle M belongs to the interpolation lineage
composed of vehicle H and vehicle L. The fuel consumption of vehicle M under the
charge-sustaining mode shall be calculated in accordance with Step 6 in Table 4.The
difference of fuel consumption between vehicle H and vehicle M, and vehicle M and
vehicle L under the charge-sustaining mode shall be not greater than the calculation
result of Formula (22), see Figure 5.The road load factor and test mass of vehicle M
shall be recorded.
8.1.6 In accordance with the vehicle manufacturer’s recommendations, vehicle H may
be selected to represent all vehicle models in the interpolation lineage for the tests.
8.1.7 Special requirements of adopting the interpolation method to calculate OVC-HEV
test results. In accordance with the stipulations of 8.4.1.1, 8.4.1.3, 8.4.2 and 8.4.3,
8.2 Energy Demand for Vehicles in a Certain Speed Section
In the interpolation lineage, the energy demand of a vehicle in the speed section p shall
be calculated in accordance with the stipulations of CE.5 in GB 18352.6-2016.The
road load factor and mass involved in the calculation process shall be determined in
accordance with CE.3.2.3.2.3 in GB 18352.6-2016.
8.3 Interpolation Coefficient of a Certain Speed Section
The interpolation coefficient of a vehicle in the speed section p shall be calculated in
accordance with Formula (25).
8.4 OVC-HEV Test Results Calculated through Interpolation Method
8.4.1 Fuel consumption
8.4.2 Electricity consumption
8.4.2.1 Electricity consumption of charge-depleting mode test
The electricity consumption of the charge-depleting mode test of a certain vehicle shall
be calculated in accordance with Formula (29).
8.4.2.2 Electricity consumption of a certain vehicle
The electricity consumption of a certain vehicle shall be calculated in accordance with
Formula (30).
8.4.3 Actual range
8.4.3.1 All-electric range
The all-electric range of a certain vehicle shall be calculated in accordance with
Formula (31).
8.5 NOVC-HEV Test Results Calculated through Interpolation Method
In accordance with the stipulations of 8.4.1.2, determine the fuel consumption of a
certain NOVC-HEV.
8.6 Road Load Lineage and Road Load Matrix Lineage
If vehicles satisfy the requirements of C.1.2.3.1.2 in GB 18352.6-2016, they may
constitute the same road load lineage; if vehicles satisfies the requirements of
C.1.2.3.1.3 in GB 18352.6-2016, they may constitute the same road load matrix
lineage. In accordance with the vehicle manufacturer’s requirements, adopt one of the
following two methods to determine the road load of vehicles in the test lineage.
9 Conformity of Production
9.1 General Rules
9.1.1 The vehicle manufacturer shall establish and implement a production conformity
assurance scheme in accordance with 9.2.
9.1.2 In accordance with 9.3 and 9.4, determine whether the conformity of production
satisfies the requirements. If a certain vehicle model cannot satisfy any requirement of
the production conformity inspection, then, it shall be determined that this vehicle
model does not satisfy the requirements of production conformity stipulated in this
document.
9.1.3 Foe vehicles undergoing the production conformity inspection, the test settings
shall be consistent with the type approval inspection specified in Chapter 7.The vehicle
preparation before the test shall be performed in accordance with the
recommendations of the vehicle manufacturer.
9.2 Production Conformity Assurance Scheme
9.3 OVC-HEV Production Conformity
9.3.1 In terms of the fuel consumption FCCD determined in accordance with 7.1.1.1 and
the fuel consumption FCCS determined in accordance with 7.1.1.2, the production
conformity inspection and the requirements shall comply with the relevant stipulations
of 8.1.2 ~ 8.3.5 in GB/T 19233-2020.
9.3.2 In terms of the fuel consumption ECAC,CD determined in accordance with 7.1.2.1,
the production conformity inspection and the requirements shall comply with the
relevant stipulations of 8.1.2 ~ 8.3.5 in GB/T 19233-2020.In terms of the fixed gradient
coefficient specified in 8.1.3.4 in this document, when determining the production
conformity in electricity consumption, 0.96 shall be adopted.
9.4 NOVC-HEV Production Conformity
In terms of the fuel consumption FCCS determined in accordance with 7.1.1.2, the
production conformity inspection and the requirements shall comply with the relevant
stipulations of 8.1.2 ~ 8.3.5 in GB/T 19233-2020.
