Foreword
This Standard is drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This Standard replaces GB/T 1703-2008 “Cycle inner tubes”. As compared with
GB/T 1703-2008, the main technical changes are as follows.
- DELETE references to GB/T 1702 and HG/T 2942 (SEE Chapter 2 of the
2008 version), ADD references to GB 1796.1 and GB 1796.2 (see Chapter
2);
- For “Table 1 -- Other main properties of inner tubes”, ADD the item of
elongation at break of inner tubes; For the adhesive strength test of rubber
base valve and tube body, ADD Footnote a; MODIFY the specification
classification description in the index column of machine test mileage (SEE
4.4.2, the 4.4.2 of the 2008 version);
- ADD the measuring position and measuring method for inner tube inflating
volume when detecting inner tube airtightness, and MODIFY the inflating
volume of Category B inner tube (SEE 5.1.1, the 5.1.1 of the 2008 version);
- ADD the tensile test method for elongation at break of inner tubes (SEE
5.2).
This Standard was proposed by China Petroleum and Chemical Industry
Federation.
This Standard shall be under the jurisdiction of China National Technical
Committee for Tyres and Rims Standardization (SAC/TC 19).

Cycle inner tubes
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the categories, requirements, test methods, and
marking of inner tubes.
This Standard is applicable to the model vulcanized inner tube which
assembles cycle tyre.
This Standard is not applicable to non-model vulcanized inner tube and the
inner tube for tubular racing-car tyre.

3 Categories of inner tube
According to the different materials used to make inner tubes, inner tubes are
divided into two categories.
- Natural rubber and natural rubber-based inner tubes are Category A;
- Butyl rubber and butyl rubber-based inner tubes are Category B.

This standard replaces GB/T 1703-1997 "force car tire."

3 types of tube
According to the different materials used in the manufacture of the tube into two categories.
--- Natural rubber and natural rubber-based tire tube class A;
--- With butyl rubber and butyl rubber inner tubes mainly for the class B.
4 Requirements
4.1 Size
Tube size specifications should be consistent with GB/T 1702, GB/T 7377 provisions corresponding tire matching requirements.
4.2 valve
Valve performance, size, shall comply with the requirements of HG/T 2942 or according to user requirements.
4.3 appearance quality
The thickness of the tube should look, uniform shape, no scratches, cracks, bubbles, spongy and impurities affect the properties of defects.
4.4 Performance
4.4.1 tightness
Tube should have good air tightness tests should be adopted 5.1.
4.4.2 Other key performance
Other major performance tube should meet the requirements in Table 1.
