Foreword
This standard is identical to ISO 8716:2001 Road vehicles - Fifth wheel kingpins -
Strength test (English version).
Compared with ISO 8716:2001, this standard has made the following editorial changes:
-- The word “this international standard” is changed to “this standard”;
-- The foreword of this standard is added;
-- The foreword of ISO 8716:2001 is deleted.
This standard replaces GB/T 15088-1994 Motor vehicles - Fifth wheel coupling pins -
Strength test.
Compared with GB/T 15088-1994, the main differences between this standard and
GB/T 15088-1994 are as follows:
-- The upper limit of the test frequency is changed from 30 Hz to 25 Hz;
-- Figure 1 turns upside down 180°.

1 Scope
This standard specifies strength test conditions and requirements for 50 and 90 fifth
wheel kingpins.
This standard applies to 50 and 90 fifth wheel kingpins that comply with the provisions
of GB/T 4606 and GB/T 4607.
2 Normative references
The provisions in the following documents become the provisions of this standard
through reference in this standard. For the dated references, the subsequent amendments
(excluding corrections) or revisions do not apply to this standard, however, parties who
reach an agreement based on this standard are encouraged to study if the latest versions

3 Terms and definitions
The terms and definitions specified in GB/T 3730.2 apply to this standard.
4 General test requirements
4.1 The dynamic strength test specified in this standard is a test that shall be performed
on a test bed.
4.2 The fixing arrangements for the fifth wheel kingpin on the test bed shall be the same
as those for its attachment to the semi-trailer, in accordance with the fifth wheel kingpin
manufacturer’s fitting instructions.
