This Standard is drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This Standard replaces GB/T 10087-1988 “Basic tooth profile of cylindrical
worm”.
As compared with GB/T 10087-1988, the main changes of this Standard are as
follows.
- ADD the Foreword of the standard;
- REFER to the latest edition of the relevant standards (SEE Clause 2;
Clause 2 of the 1988 edition).

1 Scope
This Standard specifies the basic tooth profile of cylindrical worm.
This Standard is applicable to cylindrical worm gearing with module m≥1mm
and shaft angle ∑=90°. The basic worm type is Archimedes worm (ZA worm),
straight sided normal worm (ZN worm), involute worm (ZI worm), and milled
helicoid cylindrical worm (ZK worm).
