Foreword
GB/T 1796 “Tyre valves” is divided into seven parts.
- Part 1. Tube clamp-in valves;
- Part 2. Rubber base valves;
- Part 3. Snap-in valves;
- Part 4. Tubeless clamp-in valves;
- Part 5. Tyre valves for large core chamber;
- Part 6. Cores;
- Part 7. Components.
This is Part 3 of GB/T 1796.
This Part is drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This Part replaces GB/T 1796.3-2008 “Tubeless valves - Part 3. Snap-in valves”.
As compared with GB/T 1796.3-2008, the main technical changes are as
follows.
- ADD “Part 7. Components” to the foreword (SEE the foreword);
- ADD the normative reference “GB 1796.7” (SEE Chapter 2);
- ADD the CN01C, CN02C, CQ07C, CQ08C valves (SEE Chapter 5, Chapter
6);
- MODIFY the structure, dimensions, and material of components (SEE 6.2,
6.3; 6.2, 6.3 of the 2008 version);
- MODIFY the provisions on appearance (SEE Chapter 7; Chapter 7 of the
2008 version);
- MODIFY assembly performance (SEE Chapter 9; Chapter 9 of the 2008
version);
- MODIFY the combination of rubber and metal body (SEE Chapter 10;
Chapter 10 of the 2008 version);
- DELETE the tightness of sealing cap (11.2 of the 2008 version);
Tyre valves - Part 3. Snap-in valves
1 Scope
This Part of GB/T 1796 specifies the terms and definitions, designation marking,
structural style, structure, dimensions and material of the components,
appearance, rubber hardness of valve body, assembly performance,
combination of rubber and metal body, tightness, ozone resistance, blasting,
flexure resistance, test methods, inspection rules, identification, packaging, and
storage of snap-in valves (hereafter known as valves for short).
This Part applies to valves for tubeless tyres for cycles, motorcycles, cars, light
trucks, and trucks.
2 Normative references
The following documents are indispensable for the application of this document.
For the dated references, only the versions with the dates indicated are
applicable to this document. For the undated references, the latest version
(including all the amendments) are applicable to this document.

12 Ozone resistance
After the ozone resistance test, there shall be no cracks on the valve body
rubber.
13 Blasting
After the blasting test, the valve shall not blast.
14 Flexure resistance
After the flexure resistance test, there shall be no obvious cracks on the valve
body rubber.
15 Test methods
15.1 Appearance
Visual inspection.
15.2 Throat diameter and cone position
USE special gauge or universal measuring tool to measure.
15.3 Pitch diameter, major diameter of external thread; pitch diameter,
minor diameter, and depth dimensions of internal thread
USE thread go-no go gauge to measure the pitch diameter of external thread,
and the pitch diameter and depth of internal thread. USE smooth go gauge,
smooth no gauge, or universal measuring tool to measure the major diameter
of external thread and the minor diameter of internal thread.
15.4 Other test methods
17 Identification, packaging, and storage
17.1 Identification
17.1.1 There shall be manufacturer and product designation identifications on
the valve body.
17.1.2 The following identifications shall be provided on the packaging box.
a) Manufacturer’s name and address, trademark;
b) Product name;
c) Product designation;
d) Quantity;
e) Exit-factory date.
17.2 Packaging
17.2.1 The product can be packaged in sets or packaged according to the
components.
17.2.2 Plastic bags shall be used for the inner packaging; and carton or wooden
boxes shall be used for outer packaging.
17.2.3 The packaging box (bag) shall be accompanied by product qualification
certificate.
17.3 Storage
The product shall be stored in a dry, ventilated, anti-high temperature, anti-
exposure, anti-corrosion, oil-free warehouse. From the exit-factory date, the
storage period shall not exceed 6 months.
