Foreword
Section 5.3 of this Standard is compulsory; the rest are voluntary.
This Standard was drafted according to the rules specified in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This Standard replaces GB 12952-2003 "Polyvinyl Chloride Plastic Sheets for
Waterproofing". Compared with GB 12952-2003, the main technical changes in this
Standard are as follows.
- The product classification was modified (see Chapter 4 in this Standard;
Chapter 3 in Version 2003);
- The static load resistance, peeling off seam strength, tear resistance, water
absorption and wind uplift resistance were added; adhesion at shearing was
deleted (see Section 5.3 in this Standard; Section 4.3 in Version 2003);
- The classification of Type I and II was deleted; heat ageing and artificial
weathering test time were added (see Section 5.3 in this Standard; Section 4.3
in Version 2003);
- The test methods in GB/T 328 were adopted (see Chapter 6 in this Standard;
Chapter 5 in Version 2003);
- The wind uplift resistance test method was added (see Appendixes A and B).
This Standard is not equivalent to ASTM D4434. Appendix A of this Standard refers to
ANSI/FM 4474-2004 "Evaluating the Simulated Wind Uplift of Roof System with Static
Positive Pressure and/or Negative Pressure"; Appendix B of this Standard refers to
ETAG 006.2007 "Guideline for European Technical Approval of Systems of
Mechanically Fastened Flexible Roof Waterproofing Membranes".
This Standard was proposed by China Building Materials Federation.
This Standard shall be under the jurisdiction of Subcommittee on Building Waterproof
Materials of National Technical Committee on Light and Decorative Materials of
Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC 195/SC 1).

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purpose of this Standard, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 18378 AND
the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
Homogeneous polyvinyl chloride plastic waterproofing sheets
Polyvinyl chloride plastic waterproofing sheets where no internally reinforcing
materials or backing materials are adopted.
3.2
Polyvinyl chloride plastic waterproofing sheets backed with fabric
Polyvinyl chloride plastic waterproofing sheets where fabrics, such as polyester
nonwoven fabrics, are compounded on the lower surface of plastic sheets.
3.3
Polyvinyl chloride plastic waterproofing sheets internally reinforced with fabric
Polyvinyl chloride plastic waterproofing sheets which are reinforced in the middle of
plastic sheets with polyester or fiberglass mesh fabric.
3.4
Polyvinyl chloride plastic waterproofing sheets internally reinforced with glass
fibers
Polyvinyl chloride plastic waterproofing sheets that are added with short glass fiber or
fiberglass nonwoven fabrics which have no visible effect on mechanical performance
(such as tensile properties) and only improve the product size stability.
3.5
Polyvinyl chloride plastic waterproofing sheets internally reinforced with glass
fibers and backed with fabric
Polyvinyl chloride plastic waterproofing sheets which are added with short glass fiber
or fiberglass nonwoven fabrics and where fabrics, such as polyester nonwoven
fabrics, are compounded on the lower surface of plastic sheets.
4 Classification and Designation
4.1 Classification
Based on composition, the product is classified into homogeneous plastic sheets (with
Code H), plastic sheets backed with fabric (with Code L), plastic sheets internally
reinforced with fabric (with Code P), plastic sheets internally reinforced with glass
fibers (with Code G) and plastic sheets internally reinforced with glass fibers and
backed with fabric (with Code GL).
4.2 Specification
Nominal length. 15m, 20m and 25m.
Nominal width. 1.00m and 2.00m.
Thickness. 1.20mm, 1.50mmm 1.80mm and 2.00mm.
Other specifications may be determined through negotiation between supplier and
purchaser.
4.3 Designation
The product designation is in the following sequence. product name (Code PVC
plastic sheets), exposed or non-exposed, type, thickness, length, width and standard
number.
Example. the designation of 20m long, 2.00m wide, 1.50mm thick exposed polyvinyl
chloride plastic waterproofing sheet (Class L) is as follows.
PVC plastic sheets exposed L1.50mm/20m×2.00m GB 12952-2011
measured segments minus 150mm.
6.3.2 Thickness
6.3.2.1 Thickness of Class H, P and G plastic sheets
The thickness of Class H, P and G plastic sheets are measured mechanically based
on 5 points according to GB/T 328.5-2007. The average of the 5 points is adopted as
the thickness of plastic sheets, and the minimum individual value is reported.
6.3.2.2 Thickness of Class L and GL plastic sheets and resin layer above
reinforcement
Take one 50mm×50mm sample respectively at 5 points mentioned in Article 6.3.2.1,
and cut transversely from each sample, with a thin sharp blade, an approximately ...
