1 Scope

This standard specifies the method for determining the amount of zirconia (yttrium) in zirconium corundum by zirconium oxychloride back titration. This standard applies to the determination of zirconia (铪) in zirconium corundum abrasive and zirconia corundum refractories. The measurement range (mass fraction) is 20% to 45%.

3 Principle

After the sample is melt-decomposed with a boric acid-sodium carbonate mixed flux, hydroxylamine hydrochloride is added to the medium of 0.18 mol/L to 0.36 mol/L hydrochloric acid. Reduce iron, then accurately add excess EDTA solution to coordinate Zr (IV), use xylenol orange as indicator, titrate solution with zirconium oxychloride standard The excess EDTA was dropped until the solution turned from yellow to purple to the end.

Unless otherwise stated, only analytically pure reagents and distilled water or water of corresponding purity were used in the analysis. 4.1 Boric acid-sodium carbonate mixed flux. One part of boric acid and two parts of anhydrous sodium carbonate are ground and mixed. 4.2 Hydrochloric acid (ρ = 1.19 g/mL). 4.3 Hydrochloric acid (15+85). 4.4 Hydrochloric acid (1+1). 4.5 Hydrochloric acid (3.6 mol/L). Take 30 mL of hydrochloric acid (4.2) and dilute to 100 mL with water. 4.6 Hydroxylamine hydrochloride solution (50g/L). 4.7 EDTA solution [犮 (EDTA) = 0.01mol/L]. Weigh 3.7224g of volumetric standard reagent grade ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid disodium (C10H14O8N2Na2·2H2O) in a 150mL beaker, add 50mL of water, heat and dissolve at low temperature, cool and transfer to a 1L volumetric flask. Dilute to the mark with water and shake well. 4.8 Xylenol orange indicator (2g/L). 4.9 Zirconium oxychloride standard titration solution (0.01mol/L or 0.005mol/L). 4.9.1 Preparation Weigh 3.2225g (or 1.6112g) of zirconium oxychloride (ZrOCl2·8H2O) in a.200mL beaker, add 100mL hydrochloric acid (4.5), Heat and dissolve and keep in a slightly boiling state for 5 min. After cooling, transfer to a 1 L volumetric flask, dilute to the mark with water, and shake well. 4.9.2 Calibration Pipette 20mLEDTA solution (4.7) into a.200mL beaker, add 6mL hydrochloric acid (4.4), add 5mL hydroxylamine hydrochloride ......
