1 Scope

This document specifies the requirements, technical conditions and test methods for metallic coatings and conversion coatings of automobile parts and accessories. This document is applicable to the metallic coatings and conversion coatings of automobile parts and accessories.

4 Representation Method of Metallic Coatings and

Conversion Coatings for Automobile The representation method of metallic coatings and conversion coatings for automobile mainly consists of the following three parts (see Figure 1).

5 Copper + Nickel + Chromium and Nickel + Chromium Electroplated Coating

5.1 Working Condition No. The working condition No. is used to specify the harshness of the working environment of coated parts. 5.2 Classification No. The classification No. is used to specify the coating thickness level of coated parts under different working environments. 5.3 Salt Spray Corrosion Resistance The working condition No. and salt spray corrosion resistance of copper + nickel + chromium and nickel + chromium electroplated coating are shown in Table 3. 5.4 Inspection of Properties The thickness and salt spray corrosion resistance of copper + nickel + chromium and nickel + chromium electroplated coating shall be inspected, and the electroplated coating on plastics shall undergo thermal cycle test. The inspection methods shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 5270, GB/T 9797 and GB/T 12600.

6 Zinc Electroplated Coating

6.1 Classification No. Resistance to Copper Accelerated Acetic Acid Salt Spray (CASS)Base Material Working Condition No. 6.3 Heat Treatment After electro-galvanizing, for spring parts, fasteners and high-strength parts, the risk of hydrogen embrittlement shall be eliminated. The heat treatment conditions for eliminating hydrogen embrittlement are shown in Table 6. 6.4 Inspection of Properties The thickness and salt spray corrosion resistance of zinc electroplated coating shall be inspected. The inspection methods shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 9799 and GB/T 9800.If necessary, the supply-side and the demand-side may agree to inspect other properties. 6.5 Friction Coefficient If there are requirements for the friction coefficient of the surface of electroplated parts, they shall be determined by agreement between the supply-side and the demand-side.

7 Tin Electroplated Coating

7.1 Classification No. and Applicable Conditions The classification No. and applicable conditions of tin electroplated coating are shown in Table 7. 7.2 Inspection of Properties The thickness and adhesive strength of tin electroplated coating shall be inspected. The inspection methods shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 12599.

8 Silver Electroplated Coating

8.1 Classification No. and Applicable Conditions The classification No. and applicable conditions of silver electroplated coating are shown in Table 8. 8.2 Inspection of Properties The thickness and adhesive strength of silver electroplated coating shall be inspected. The inspection methods shall comply with the provisions of SJ/T 11110.

9 Copper Electroplated Coating

9.1 Classification No. and Applicable Conditions The classification No. and applicable conditions of copper electroplated coating are shown in Table 9. 9.2 Inspection of Properties of Copper Electroplated Coating The thickness, porosity and adhesive strength of copper electroplated coating shall be inspected. The inspection methods shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 12333.If necessary, the supply-side and the demand-side may agree to inspect other properties. 9.3 Friction Coefficient If there are requirements for the friction coefficient of the surface of electroplated parts, they shall be determined by agreement between the supply-side and the demand-side.

10 Nickel and Copper + Nickel Electroplated Coating

10.1 Classification No. and Applicable Conditions The classification No. and applicable conditions of nickel and copper + nickel electroplated coating are shown in Table 10. 10.2 Inspection of Properties The thickness and adhesive strength of nickel and copper + nickel electroplated coating shall be inspected.

11 Chromium Electroplated Coating

11.1 Classification No. and Applicable Conditions The classification No. and applicable conditions of chromium electroplated coating are shown in Table 11. 11.2 Inspection of Properties The thickness, adhesive strength and hardness of chromium electroplated coating shall be inspected. The inspection methods shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 11379.If necessary, the supply-side and the demand-side may agree to inspect other properties.

12 Electrochemical Oxidation Film of Aluminum and Aluminum Alloys

12.1 Properties and Applicable Conditions The properties and applicable conditions of the electrochemical oxidation film of aluminum and aluminum alloys are shown in Table 12. 12.2 Inspection of Properties The properties specified in Table 12 shall be inspected. The inspection methods shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 4340.1, GB/T 4957, GB/T 8013.1, GB/T 8014.2 and GB/T 12967.3.

13 Electroless Nickel Plating

13.1 Requirements for Properties and Applicable Conditions The requirements for properties and applicable conditions of electroless nickel plating are shown in Table 13. 13.2 Inspection of Properties The thickness, adhesive strength and corrosion resistance of electroless nickel plating shall be inspected.

14 Conversion Coatings of Iron and Steel Parts

14.1 Classification No. and Applicable Conditions The classification No. and applicable conditions of the conversion coatings of iron and steel parts are shown in Table 14. ......
