1 Scope

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document. 3.1 Iron bacteria A type of bacteria that can convert brown ferrous ions dissolved in water into brown or black ferric oxide hydrate that is insoluble in water. 3.2 MPN method MPN (mostprobablenumber) method Multi-tube fermentation technology is used to estimate bacterial concentration using probability theory. 3.3 Agedseawater It is taken from the unpolluted sea area and stored in a dark place with sea water for more than 15 days after being put into a glass bottle.

4 Principle of the method

This method uses multi-tube fermentation technology, cultured at (29±1) ℃ for 14 days, if the brown color disappears in the test tube and a brown or black deposit is formed The precipitation indicates a positive reaction, and the MPN method is used to count the iron bacteria in the test sample.

5 Reagents and materials

In this test method, except for special regulations, analytical reagents and water that meet the third grade water specifications in GB/T 6682 should be used.
