Casing, tubing and line pipe for the oil and gas industry Thread processing, measurement and inspection

1 Scope

This document specifies the connecting threads of line pipe, round thread casing, round thread oil pipe and trapezoidal thread casing used in the oil and gas industry (abbreviated Requirements for dimensions, tolerances and markings of API threads) and gauges, as well as instruments and methods for inspecting API threads and gauges. This document applies to the processing, measurement and inspection of casing, tubing and line pipe threads for the oil and gas industry. This document also applies to control thread acceptance gauges, including individual parameter gauges and instruments used to inspect API threads.
