Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009. This standard replaces GB/T 6836-2007 "Sewing thread". Compared with GB/T 6836-2007, the main technical changes are as follows. --- Revised scope (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the.2007 edition); --- Increased terms and definitions such as the line of stagnation, cobwebs (see Chapter 3); --- Removed the composite strand specification, twist (reference) index, adjust the single-line breaking strength, fracture strength coefficient of variation technical indicators (See Table 1, Table 3, Table 4 of the.2007 edition); --- Appropriately improved the wet fastness requirements of cotton sewing threads (see Table 5, Table 6 of.2007); --- Increased the allowable deviation rate of knots and length (see Table 2, Table 5,.2007 editions Table 2, Table 6); --- Supplemented and improved the test method for the length of the sewing thread (see 5.4,.2007 edition 6.7); --- Revised the sampling method in the appearance inspection, and improved the requirements for the appearance of the miss rate (see Table 8,.2007 version of Table 9); --- Increased the calculation formula for the breaking strength of sewing thread (see Appendix A). This standard was proposed by the China National Textile and Apparel Council. 1 Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, requirements, test methods, acceptance rules, packaging, marking, transportation and storage of sewing thread products. This standard applies to polyester sewing thread, carded cotton sewing thread and combed cotton sewing thread.
