QB/T 2262 Terms of Leather Industry3 Terms and DefinitionsThe terms and definitions defined in QB/T 2262 and the following are applicable to this document. 3.1 bundle A packaging unit formed by packing a certain quantity of wet blue leathers together. 3.2 bundle slip A label used to provide a description of the contents of the bundle (3.1). 3.3 bundle size The maximum quantity of wet blue leathers that each bundle (3.1) can contain. 3.4 pallet A carrier made of disposable wood or other moisture-proof materials. 3.5 palletizing A packaging unit formed by stacking bundles (3.1) or wet blue leathers on a pallet (3.4), with the pallet as a carrier, and fixing them by tying, wrapping, etc. NOTE. pallet packaging is more convenient for mechanical handling.4 Packaging Requirements4.1 General Requirements 4.2 ~ 4.6 are technical requirements for the packaging of wet blue leather. All the wet blue leathers shall be placed on the pallet and packed flat without wrinkles. NOTE. wrinkles formed in the leather during transportation due to improper packaging and insufficient moisture content of the leather are permanent and will reduce the use value of the leather to a large extent. 4.2 Packaging Materials Wet blue leather shall be packed with suitable opaque materials to retain moisture and provide protection during transportation. 4.3 Packaging Specifications For relatively small sheepskin, each bundle is packed with 12 (or integer multiples of 12) pieces; for relatively large cowhide, each bundle is packed with 6 (or integer multiples of 6) pieces; for the convenience of calculation, each bundle can also be packed with 10 (or integer multiples of 10) pieces of sheepskin or 5 (or integer multiples of 5) pieces of cowhide; or as agreed by the relevant parties (such as the supply-side and the demand-side). The selection of bundle size should be such that the mass of each bundle of wet blue leather shall not exceed the limit for manual handling stipulated by the International Labor Organization.
