1 Scope

This document specifies the general requirements, performance requirements and test methods for driver attention monitoring system (hereinafter referred to as the “system”). This document applies to M and N vehicles which are equipped with a driver attention monitoring system based on image recognition technology. It can be used as a reference for the implementation of other systems with the same function.

2 Normative references

The following documents are normatively referenced in this document and are indispensable for its application. For dated references, only the version corresponding to that date is applicable to this document; for undated references, the latest version (including all amendments) is applicable to this document. GB/T 10000, Human dimensions of Chinese adults GB 10810.3, Spectacle lenses and related eye wear - Transmittance specifications and test methods GB 34660, Road vehicles - Requirements and test methods of electromagnetic compatibility GB/T 39263, Road vehicles - Advanced driver assistance systems - Terms and definitions

3 Terms and definitions

Terms and definitions determined by GB/T 39263 and the following ones are applicable to this document. 3.1 Driver attention monitoring system; DAMS A system that monitors the driver’s state in real time and sends a prompt message when it is confirmed that the driver is distracted. 3.2 Distraction The state in which the driver is unable to concentrate on performing the driving task due to fatigue driving, interference from the external environment, or actions unrelated to driving while driving the vehicle. 3.3 Abnormal head pose The behavior where the front-back tilt angle and horizontal rotation angle of the head exceed the normal range when the driver raises the head, lowers the head, or shakes the head left and right. 3.4 Accuracy rate The ratio of the number of correct detections of a behavior to the number of detection events (number of correct detections + number of false detections). 3.5 Detection rate The ratio of the number of correct detections of a behavior to the number of real events (number of correct detections + number of missed detections). as real events. 3.6 Humanoid robot A robot, with the appearance of human, which is programmed to mimic human movements.

4 General requirements

4.1 Functional requirements The system shall be equipped with the functions of real-time monitoring of the driver’s eye closing, abnormal head pose, hand-held phone answering and calling, and can be provided with the function of monitoring the driver’s yawning or smoking behavior, and sending a prompt message when the corresponding conditions are met. 4.2 Self-inspection The system shall perform self-inspection after power-on and shall have at least the following self-inspection functions. 4.3 System state transition and information prompt requirements When the system is fault-free, the following requirements shall be met. 4.4 Fault indication In case of malfunction of the system, the system shall have a fault indication function and shall at least continuously send an indication to the driver in an optical manner. The indication shall be distinguished from other prompts in the system and shall be visible. 4.5 Electromagnetic compatibility The electromagnetic compatibility of the system shall meet the requirements of GB 34660.

5 Performance requirements

5.1 Requirements for driver identification ability Carry out the test according to 6.2.When the behavior of the test targets meets the prompt message conditions in Table 1, the number of people, whose behaviors are all correctly identified by the system and to whom a prompt message meeting the requirements of 4.3 d) is sent out, shall not be less than 2/3 of the total number of test personnel. Among all behaviors of the test personnel whose behaviors are not fully identified, there shall be at least 1 time when the system identifies the corresponding behavior and sends out a prompt message. 5.2 Requirements for detection rate and accuracy rate Carry out the test according to 6.3.When the test target behavior meets the prompt message conditions in Table 1, the system shall send out a prompt message that meets the requirements of 4.3 d) within 1.5 s, where the detection rate and accuracy rate shall be greater than or equal to 95%.

6 Test methods

6.1 Test conditions 6.1.1 Test environmental conditions The test environmental conditions shall meet the following requirements. 6.1.2 Test tool conditions Test tools shall meet the following requirements. 6.2 Driver identification ability test 6.2.1 Test target The test targets shall be at least 3 adults who have no facial and eye defects, meeting the dimensional requirements of GB/T 10000 for height, eye height in sitting posture, and head shape and face length for the 18 ~ 60-year-old group. 6.2.2 Test procedure Under the daytime illumination intensity, when the system is active and functioning normally, the test targets perform the behaviors in Table 1 in the driving area. Each person performs each behavior 6 times, and the interval between single behaviors shall be at least 5 s. 6.3 Test for detection rate and accuracy rate 6.3.1 Test target The test target is a humanoid robot that meets the requirements of Appendix A. 6.3.2 Light source The light source shall be able to move according to the position of the light source shown in Figure 1, with the central position of the first row of seats of the vehicle as the center, where α is 7.5°, β is 10°, and the light source incident angle γ is 30° ~ 45°. 6.3.3 Test procedure Carry out the test under day and night conditions, respectively. When the system is active and functioning normally, the test target shall perform the behaviors in Table 2 in the driving area. See Table 3 for the number of tests. The interval between each single behavior shall be greater than 5 s.

Appendix A

(Normative) Humanoid robot A.1 General This Appendix specifies the technical requirements for humanoid robots used for system performance tests. A.2 Requirements A.2.1 General requirements A.2.1.1 Humanoid robot dimensions The humanoid robot dimensions shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 10000 on the basic value of human body dimensions for adults aged 18 ~ 60 years old. Table A.1 shows the value range for the dimensions of each part; Figures A. 1 ~ A.4 show the corresponding positions. A.2.1.2 Eyes The horizontal width range of the eyes of the humanoid robot shall be 30.0 mm ~ 33.0 mm, and the maximum vertical height range shall be 5.0 mm ~ 11.7 mm. The eye dimensions are shown in Figure A.5. A.2.1.3 Mouth The maximum vertical height range of the mouth of the humanoid robot shall be 28.9 mm ~ 33.9 mm, and the maximum horizontal width range shall be 46.9 mm ~ 56.9 mm. A.2.1.4 Head movement range The head rotation range of the humanoid robot shall be -90° ~ 90°; the head-up limit shall be 45°; the head-down limit shall be 45°. A.2.2 Feature requirements A.2.2.1 Feature points When it is detected by the same driver attention monitoring system, the humanoid robot shall be able to detect the data of at least 68 feature points, which is consistent with the data of feature points detected by real people. A.2.2.2 Skin material The color purity range of humanoid robot skin color shall be 27.40% ~ 32.70%, and the distribution range of skin light reflectance shall be 19.74% ~ 26.26%. A.2.3 Installation requirements A.2.3.1 Head The installation plane of the head of the humanoid robot shall be horizontal, and the deviation angle shall be within 2.5°. A.2.3.2 Arm The upper arm of the humanoid robot shall be close to the torso and perpendicular to the centerline, as shown in Figure A.6. ......
