1 Scope

This standard specifies the text information tags of Tibetan digital documents. This standard is applicable to the construction of Tibetan corpora and the digital marking of Tibetan literature.

3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document. 3.1 Tibetan Literature Tibetanliterature Various documents consisting of Tibetan (including ancient Tibetan and Sanskrit). 3.2 Text markup language textencodinginitiative;TEI An international standard language that defines the structure of an electronic document and describes its content. Note 1. The markup languages currently commonly used in electronic library related projects in the information processing industry are applicable to the encoding and description of full-text electronic forms. Note 2. The TEI metadata standard also specifies a standard encoding format for data exchange, using the SGML file format. 3.3 Banchida Bantita Sanskrit, meaning a scholar with profound knowledge, specifically refers to Indian and other local scholars who participate in classical translation.
