This document applies to warning graphic symbols for all-terrain vehicles (referred to as warning symbols).2 Normative referencesThe following documents are referred to in the text in such a way that some or all of their content constitutes requirements of this document. For dated references, only the version corresponding to that date is applicable to this document; for undated references, the latest version (including all amendments) is applicable to this document. GB/T 24936, Terms for all terrain vehicles3 Terms and definitionsFor the purpose of this document, the following terms and definitions, as well as those given in GB/T 24936, apply. 3.1 warning symbol caution symbol Symbol, featured by graphics and not relying on language, which is to remind people to use vehicles safely and avoid possible dangers. 3.2 warning symbol marking caution symbol marking Graphic and/or text marking placed in conspicuous locations to remind drivers and passengers to use the vehicle correctly and avoid possible dangers. 3.3 warning label Warning marking set on the vehicle by pasting, using flexible structure and thin material as the carrier. 3.4 warning sign Warning marking set on the vehicle by riveting, welding, pasting, etc., using rigid structure and thin material as the carrier. 3.5 hang tags Warning marking hung on the vehicle to remind the first buyer to use the vehicle safely, using thin material as the carrier.4 Requirements4.1 Warning symbols and colors shall comply with the provisions of Chapter 5. 4.2 Warning symbol markings shall comply with the provisions of Chapter 6. The names of warning labels or warning signs shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 24936. 4.3 The layout of warning symbol markings shall comply with product design requirements and be easy to observe and identify. 4.4 The contrast between the warning symbol and its background color shall be clear and obvious. 4.5 Unless otherwise specified, the background color of the warning symbol shall be white. 4.6 The colors and meanings of warning symbols are as follows: a) Red – indicating danger; b) Yellow (or amber) – indicating caution; c) Green (or blue) – indicating safety; d) Black – indicating objects, words, numbers, etc. Front: 20.0 kPa ± 0.2 kPa. Rear: 20.0 kPa ± 0.2 kPa. ● Maximum load capacity: 85 kg. Figure 4 – Combined tire pressure and overload warning label 6.2.3.2 The contents of the combined warning label shall be indicated in the product instruction manual and on the tire. 6.2.3.3 Any information appearing on a combined warning label shall comply with safety requirements. 6.2.3.4 The combined warning label shall be affixed at the following locations: on the left rear fender above the rear wheel axis for four-wheel all-terrain vehicles (ATVs); on visible locations such as the vehicle body, frame, cargo box, and shelf for multi-purpose all-terrain vehicles (UVs) and go-karts, which shall be indicated in the instruction manual. 6.2.3.5 The minimum outer edge dimensions of the rectangular frame of the combined warning label are: height 46 mm × width 70 mm. 6.2.4 Maximum load capacity warning label 6.2.4.1 Each all-terrain vehicle may be equipped with a maximum load capacity warning label on the load carrier, designated support area, or trailer connection. 6.2.4.2 The maximum load capacity shall be listed on the maximum load capacity warning label. 6.2.4.3 If a maximum load capacity warning label is affixed to an all-terrain vehicle, it shall be affixed near the vehicle body or on the cargo area or trailer connection. 6.2.4.4 The maximum load capacity may be stamped, moulded or permanently etched on the cargo area or trailer connection, which shall be easily readable by the driver. 6.2.5 Type I warning label 6.2.5.1 Type I general warning label 6.2.5.1.1 Each Type I four-wheeled all-terrain vehicle (ATV) shall be affixed with a Type I general warning label. The content, model and format are shown in Figure 5. 6.3.2 Size The height of the hang tag shall not be less than 152.5 mm and the width shall not be less than 101.5 mm. 6.3.3 Content 6.3.3.1 The overall warning label content shall be repeated once more on the first side (front) of the hang tag, including the content of the Type I general warning label in 6.2.5.1 or the content of the Type II general warning label in 6.2.6.1. 6.3.3.2 For Type I four-wheel all-terrain vehicles, the second side (back side) of the hang tag shall include the following information. a) Category description, scope of use and user age are as follows: -- Category G: General type. Practical type for entertainment and daily life, prohibited for use by those under 16 years old. -- Category S: Sports. For recreational use by experienced people, limited to professional operators, and prohibited for use by people under 16 years old. -- Category Y: Children. There are types Y-6, Y-10 and Y-12. These vehicles are designed for children's entertainment, but shall be used under adult supervision. There are age restrictions for users (suitable for ages 6 and above, 10 and above, and 12 and above). -- Category T: Recreational. This type of vehicle can be used for recreation by adults; it can also be used for recreation by minors aged 14 and above under adult supervision. It is prohibited for those under 14 to use it. b) Marked with “Driver only, NEVER carry a passenger”. c) Marked with “Driving training is available, please contact the seller for specific requirements”. d) Marked with “Check with the seller about local driving regulations and laws”. e) Marked with “This hang tag shall not be removed prior to sale”. 6.3.3.3 For Type II four-wheel all-terrain vehicles, the second side (back side) of the hang tag shall include the following information. a) Regulations on scope of use and driver age requirements: -- Category G: General type.
