Introduction

The establishment of disease-free zones is an internationally accepted practice for preventing and controlling animal diseases and promoting international trade. The Animal Health Code clearly puts forward the basic concept and principles of disease-free zone construction, and stipulates a series of disease-free zones for dozens of animal diseases such as foot-and-mouth disease. In.2008, my country formulated the Terrestrial Animal Health Code. GB/T 22330 "Standard for Areas Free of Specified Animal Diseases", but with the development of disease-free area construction theory and accumulation of practical experience over the years, the original standard In order to improve the scientificity and operability of the disease-free zone standards and better regulate the construction, evaluation and maintenance of disease-free zones in my country, GB/T 22330 was revised and still consists of fourteen parts. --- Part 1.General. The purpose is to specify the overall principles and basic requirements for the establishment of areas free from prescribed animal diseases. --- Part 2.Foot-and-mouth disease-free areas. The purpose is to specify the requirements for the establishment and restoration of foot-and-mouth disease-free areas. --- Part 3.Swine vesicular disease-free areas. The purpose is to specify the requirements for the establishment and restoration of swine vesicular disease-free areas. --- Part 4.Classical swine fever (swine fever)-free areas. The purpose is to specify the requirements for the establishment and restoration of African swine fever-free areas. --- Part 6.African horse sickness-free areas. The purpose is to specify the requirements for the establishment and restoration of African horse sickness-free areas. --- Part 7.Rinderpest-free areas. 1 Scope

This document specifies the infection conditions and incubation period of PRV, the basic requirements for establishing PRV-free areas, the requirements for immunization, the requirements for monitoring, requirements, as well as the conditions for establishing infection control areas when limited epidemics occur and the conditions for restoring areas free of small ruminant epidemics. This document applies to the establishment and rehabilitation of PPR-free areas.

4 Peste des petits ruminants virus infection

Any of the following situations is considered to be a case of PPR virus infection. a) The peste des petits ruminants virus (except vaccine strains) is isolated and identified from susceptible animals or their products; b) Samples from susceptible animals showing clinical signs of PPR or epidemiologically linked to confirmed or suspected cases of PPR; PPR virus antigen or nucleic acid (except vaccine strain) is detected in the product; c) From a small ruminant animal that has not undergone treatment and has clinical signs of PPR or has an epidemiological link with a confirmed or suspected case of PPR Antibodies to PPR virus were detected in samples from susceptible animals immunized with animal epidemic vaccines.

5 Incubation period

The incubation period of PPR is 21 days.

6 Basic Requirements

6.1 Comply with the basic conditions for establishing areas free from prescribed animal diseases in GB/T 22330.1. 6.2 Based on the risk, protected areas or artificial or geographical barriers may be established between adjacent PPR-infected countries or regions to effectively Prevent the introduction of peste des petits ruminants. 6.3 Conduct laboratory testing and epidemiological investigation on all suspected PPR cases in the region that meet the requirements of GB/T 27982.
