This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part 1.Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting is required. This document is part 2 of GB/T 18851 Nondestructive Testing - Penetrant Testing. GB/T 18851 has been published in the following parts. --Part 1.General; -- Part 2.Inspection of penetrating materials; --Part 3.Reference test blocks; --Part 4.Equipment; -- Part 5.Penetrant testing at temperatures above 50°C; -- Part 6.Penetrant testing at temperatures below 10°C. Introduction

Penetrant testing is one of the conventional non-destructive testing methods, mainly used to detect surface defects of metal or non-metal parts and is widely used in machine tools. Machinery, metallurgy, aerospace, aviation, petroleum, shipbuilding, railways and other fields. GB/T 18851 "Nondestructive Testing - Penetrant Testing" aims to standardize the conduct of penetrant testing activities. GB/T 18851 is proposed to consist of 6 parts constitute. --Part 1.General. The purpose is to specify the use of white light or ultraviolet light (UV-A, with a central wavelength of 365 nm) to detect the test material. 1 Scope

This document specifies the technical requirements and inspection procedures for type inspection and batch inspection of penetrant materials.
