This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009. This standard replaces GB/T 17540-1998 "General Specifications for Desktop Laser Printers". This standard is compared with GB/T 17540-1998. 1 Scope

This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, quality assessment procedures and marking, packaging, transportation and storage of desktop laser printers. This standard applies to the design and manufacture of desktop laser printers (hereinafter referred to as. products). This standard is the basis for the development of product standards. 3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document. 3.1 Laser printer laserprinter An electrostatic imaging printer using a laser source. 3.2 Print area printablearea The location and size of the product that can be printed on the media. 3.3 Print speed printspeed The number of pages of the test sample printed per minute of the product. Note. The unit is page per minute (ppm). 3.4 First set of printing time firstsetouttime FSOT The time required to complete the output from the time the print order is issued until the first set of prints (standard test sample). Note 1. The unit is seconds (s). Note 2. The first set of printing time is equivalent to the FSOT of ISO /IEC 24734. 3.5 Multi-page print speed multi-pagesprintingspeed The product prints the number of pages of standard test proofs in different file formats per minute. Note 1. The unit is page per minute (ppm). Note 2. The multi-page printing speed is equivalent to the ESAT of ISO /IEC 24734. 3.6 Print preparation time getreadytimeforprint The time from when a print order is issued to when the pickup roller starts to operate. Note. The unit is seconds (s). 3.7 Home print time firstprintouttime Start from the pickup roller and go to the first page of the print (standard test sample) to fully output the required time. Note. The unit is seconds (s). 3.8 Continuous printing speed continuousprintingspeed The product prints the number of pages in the standard test version per minute. Note. The unit is page per minute (ppm). 3.9 Print resolution printresolution The number of points that can be printed per unit length. Note 1. The unit is dots per mm (dot/mm) or dots per inch (dpi). Note 2. The print resolution includes the physical resolution without interpolation and the interpolation resolution after interpolation. 3.10 Nominal resolution The resolution of the product given in the product manual is by default. Note. The nominal resolution can be physical resolution or interpolation resolution.

4.1 Design 4.1.1 Hardware When designing products, safety, electromagnetic compatibility, ease of use, reliability, and maintainability should be designed.
