1 Scope

This document specifies the conditions of use of heavy-duty rail vehicles, models, power series and speed levels, general requirements, main system requirements, special Requirements, operating performance requirements, test methods, inspection rules, nameplates, markings, transportation and storage. This document applies to new heavy-duty railcars with a standard gauge of 1 435 mm and powered by diesel engines. Heavy-duty rail vehicles with different distances shall be implemented accordingly.
