1 Scope

This document specifies the content of monthly climate prediction and gives the method of climate prediction. This document applies to operational forecasting and decision-making services for monthly climate predictions.

3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document. 3.1 An advance estimate of the climate trend of a region for the next calendar month. 3.2 The difference between the arithmetic mean of the daily mean temperature in a natural month and its climate mean in the same period (the mean of the last three consecutive years). Note. The unit is Celsius (°C). 3.3 monthly precipitation The accumulation of daily precipitation in a natural month. Note. The unit is millimeter (mm). 3.4 The percentage of the difference between the monthly precipitation (3.4) and the climate average precipitation in the same period of the year and the average climate precipitation in the same period of the year. 3.5 cold air process coldairprocess The weather process in which cold air occurs, develops, and ends.
