1 Scope

This standard specifies the visual inspection methods and quality grades for the surface quality of sand casting steel castings. This standard applies to steel castings made by sand casting.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions defined in GB/T 5611 apply to this document. 3.1 Compare photos A set of photos used to compare and evaluate different surface appearances and surface discontinuities of the tested castings.

4 Detection method

4.1 Personnel qualification 4.1.1 The inspector shall have the ability to carry out visual inspection. 4.1.2 The inspector shall conduct a visual inspection every year, and the results of the visual inspection must meet the following requirements. a) Within a distance of not less than 30cm, the near vision of one or both eyes should be able to read Jaejer 1 or TimesNewRoman 4.5 or the same size characters (1.6mm height); b) The inspector should have sufficient color vision to be able to distinguish and distinguish the difference in color or gray level involved in visual inspection. 4.2 Surface condition The surface to be inspected should be clean and free of any substances that affect visual inspection.
